Saturday March 9

So it is way too late......

I might have to finish up tomorrow :)

Today was a pretty fun day.

We did start put with cleaning.

The girls rooms, toy room, bathrooms.

The works.

After that, we got Porter to bed and dad put the girls through a Cross fit workout.

Elsie thought she was the coolest :)

I wish I would have gotten pictures.

Then Madi and I went for a short run.

She has track starting soon.

So we are excited to get back to running together!

Then we rented Wreck it Ralph and relaxed for a bit.

Around 7:00 Dad and Porter got picked up to go to the Monster Truck show.

They went with is Home Teaching partner and some of his kids.

He got tickets for one of the families they home teach, and the Dad is not very active....

When he came to pick them up, he said they had an extra ticket....

So Cassi ended up getting to go too.

Madi, Elsie and I made our way to Walmart to get Madi a few school supplies she was needing and then we headed to Yogurtz.

Elsie thought it was just the best.

She did tell me a lot that she missed Daddy, and when we left Yogurtz she said "what about daddy?" and when I said that when we got home, we would have to go right to bed and she said "But what about daddy?"

I am sure that little girl will be excited to see her Daddy in the morning :)

So here is a few pictures....I will put more tomorrow.

Friday March 8

Tonight was our Activity Days Daddy/Daughter date.

We decided to make the theme 'Minute to Win it'.

I think it was a success.

The girls had a ton of fun and I am pretty sure the Dads had fun too :)

We had a bunch of games and split up everyone into 3 groups.

And in each group, we had two different games.

Then after games, we had root beer floats.

Everyone left happy....and left with a certificate of completion with a picture with their Dad.

Dad did a little cross-fit workout with me today.

Boy, it was a good work out.

Looking forward to more of those :)



Thursday March 7

These boys make me very happy.

Porter follows his dad around everywhere.

The kid talks a lot.

He didn't get that from Dad...not sure where it came from :)

Porter told Dad how much he wants to get a baby fox.

We watched 'The Fox and the Hound' the other day.

And since then, he thinks he needs himself a baby fox.

I don't think dad is convinced that we need one.

But I am sure Porter will keep working on him...

Anyway....these boys are two peas in a pod.

And I love watching them together!

One thing he did get from his Dad....

He gets fed up with getting his picture taken too much :)

It was such a nice day today, Dad put the trampoline up for the kiddos.

They were all very excited....

But I don't think anyone was as excited as Elsie Bug!

They played out there for a while and we cooked up some hamburgers.

I am so excited for this kind of outside stuff everyday!!!

 

Wednesday March 6

 

You know....Madi is a pretty cool cat :)

She is a fun kid.

She loves school.

She is super helpful.

And she is becoming a great and beautiful young woman.

Yesterday and tonight she and I had some good talks.

I look forward to her growing up and the talks we can have.

She does need to try to be less irritated by Cassi....

Poor Cass.

Can't really do much without making Madi mad.

But I kinda think it is just our norm.

They have such different personalities....

Maybe it's the age gap, or a birth order thing.

I don't know.

But it is a continual struggle for us all.

It is something we work on daily.

And I know Madi is trying.

I know she WANTS to be nice to Cassi, but when it comes time, it is so hard for her.....

We are working on it :)

She is a good kid.

She makes us very proud.

I can't believe how quickly she is growing.

I need to be better about having more one on one talks with her....cause I know the day will come that she may not want to have anything to do with me.

But maybe if she is used to talking with me, it might be easier.

Maybe?



Tuesday March 5

So I kept Elsie and Cassi home from school today.

I did get a lot of laundry done....but that is pretty much it.

I shouldn't complain....my kids don't get sick too often, and when they do it's not that bad.

Cassi was up since 4:00 this morning with her ear hurting.

Elsie was very tight and she kept falling down and she was pretty fussy.

So I just decided to keep them home.

I knew Elsie wouldn't be very cooperative at school in that kind of mood.

And Cassi just needed another day for her ear to feel better....plus she was so tired for being up so early.

Well, later in the day, Elsie kept having a rough time so I took her temp and she had a low 100 fever.

I decided to check Port too, cause she was being overly rotten (usually a tale-tale sign of him not feeling well) and sure enough, he had a fever too.

So we aren't horrible....just enough to keep us from being very productive :)

I hope they all get some sleep tonight.

Cassi was to bed very early tonight....hope that doesn't backfire early in the morning :)

Elsie watched almost two full seasons of Good Luck Charlie today.

I have never been more sick of that show :)

But it kept Elsie calm.

I tried to stretch her throughout the day.

Sometimes she liked it, others she wouldn't have any of it :)

She's a stubborn one.

Cassi didn't feel too horrible today.

Just tired, and I did give her a few doses of ibuprofen for her ear pain.

Hopefully tomorrow she will feel up to going to school.

But I think I will be keeping Elsie home again, we will see how the night goes.

 

 

Oh such a sweet little face that is, even when she's not feeling well.

Cassi started writing herself a new song.

The tune it awesome....

I am excited to see where she goes with it.

I tell her all the time she should just sit in her room and play and figure things out.

She has such a talent with the guitar...well any kind of music.

Sometimes I think it comes so easy for her, she doesn't think she should practice.

But if she would just put the time in she would be fantastic.

I love when she comes up with her own stuff cause it keeps her interested and she spends more time on it.

I love it.

 

Monday March 4

I got to go for a birthday lunch today with some very neat ladies.

Heather, Jenni and Aryn.

It was a fun time and I loved spending time with them and having a little break in life :)

So last night Cassi woke me up with her ear hurting.

I gave her some medicine and she went back to sleep.

This morning she kept complaining about her ear.

The problem is, Cassi kinda complains a lot.

I tell her all the time that it is important for her to not complain about every little thing because it is hard to know if something is really wrong.

She didn't have a temp so I gave her medicine and she was acting fine by the time we needed to leave for school.

Well, as I pulled up for lunch, the school nurse called and told me she thought Cassi should be seen by a physician.

So I called Dad to go and pick her up and he made an appointment with the doc.

After my lunch date with my girls, I grabbed Cassi and Elsie and headed to the doctor.

Sure enough she had a bad ear infection.

I feel bad.

I feel bad for sending her to school, not thinking it was a big deal.

I just feel bad.

But I did tell her how I felt.

I told her that it was hard for me to know exactly how bad she hurt.

Anyway....we got her started on medicine and hopefully she can feel batter soon :)

As a side note....Cassi's tooth (that has been gone since she was three) is ALMOST through the skin!!!!!

Yay!

I am so excited to see that gap gone :)

Today is my Dad's birthday....it was always fun growing up celebrating our birthdays together.

Happy Birthday Dad!!!

Today is also Sister Roll's birthday.

We made plans to make a stop by her house to visit her and wish her a Happy Birthday.

Elsie was so excited to see her!

It has been a while.

So glad she is part of our life.

Cassi and Porter spent some time outside while we made dinner.

They made a chalk house, complete with chalk couches and TV :)

 

Sunday March 3

So Happy Birthday to me :)

Kinda a big birthday too...

Thirty three on three three.

Kinda fun.

Sunday birthdays are not always to best....but my birthday got to be spread over the last few days because of it, so that is fun.

I got a lot of birthday wishes at church...since it was int he monthly bulletin passed out today :)

And when I helped Porter say the prayer in primary, they told me to stay so they could sing to me.

After church, Dad got to work finishing up a yummy dinner for us.

While things were cooking, they sent me away to do my own thing while they made a cake.

Of course I could not stand by without getting some pictures.

(With my amazing new lens that Dad got me for my birthday.....I LOVE it!)

It was a yummy cake....and I thought my man looked so cute frosting it!

After dinner I was sent away so they could clean up.

Port and I played 'Where's the water' for a while, with Elsie watching.

We had some friends stop by later on, the Morgans, to bring some treats and hang out for a bit.

It was a very nice day.

It was a nice relaxing birthday :)

 

 

 

 

 



Saturday March 2

Birthday movie date night.

Friday March 1

Cass and I had some alone time today.

Just a few errands to run, but it was fun to have her company.

Then a little later on I had my yearly dr appt.

When I got home Madi pops out with a mask on her face and starts doing the Harlem Shake....then everyone else jumps out and starts dancing.

So funny!

I kept thinking it needed to be video taped.

Madi said that's what they wanted to do, but dad didn't want proof on tape.

Boo!

But it seriously was funny!

Then we went to Texas roadhouse for my birthday dinner.

I thought we were gonna do that tomorrow.....but maybe Dad has other plans :)

Elsie was so excited to see a Buffalo at Texas Roadhouse.....I don't think we have noticed it there before.

After dinner we went shopping and got me a birthday dress....since my birthday is on Sunday.

Sunday birthdays aren't the greatest, you can't really do anything....so you should at least feel cute in what your wearing, right?

It was a fun night :)

 

Thursday February 28

This is what our Thursday afternoon looks like when there is no school tomorrow.

Madi got her chores done early....so she got to be on her Kindle.

Cassi got to work on her laundry and room.

The room still needs help.

I don't know how that girl gets it messy so quickly!

Elsie using her imagination, as usual.

Quite the little poser.

And Porter took a late nap cause Elsie had PT today.

And he woke up kinda grumpy....

But perked up a bit once he got his 'super hero' stuff on.

Later on tonight.......I hand washed all the dishes, and the dishes that were pulled out of the dishwasher too.

Not sure what is going on with the dishwasher.....it runs, but nothing is clean!

I am sure dad can figure it out.

Elsie hopped in and helped me out with the dishes while Porter made puppets out of brown paper bags.

He also write his name for the first time.

I am a little late in the game with him.....kinda a slacker I guess.

But I think he is to the point of being interested in the writing thing.

We will see.

I think he did a pretty good job on his name.

Oh, and we were so excited to find out that Katie, the PT, is pregnant....with TWINS!!!!

Yay!

We are so excited for her.

The funny thing, her and her husband were trying to figure out if they even wanted ONE more :)

I told them their plans are being made for them.
