Wednesday March 13

We lost Gramps today.
Oh how we miss him already.
It is very sad.
But we also feel happiness that he finally gets to be with his 'Little Bear'.
All he wanted was to be back with her.
We will be heading to Wyoming tomorrow and we are not sure yet when the funeral will be.
But it will be nice to be surrounded by family and have time to celebrate such an amazing man.
Our day before finding out the news was pretty simple.
I was in the office.
Dad and I had a little day date and we went to the temple so I could scout out a spot to take a group picture for the mission temple prep....which now we won't be going to.
Which is totally fine.
Without knowing it, we would need to feel the peace of even being on the temple grounds.
When we got home, that is when we found out.
It was so hard to give the news to the kids.
Cassi didn't go to Rugby.
We debating telling Madi while she was at work or wait until she got home.
We decided to call her and see if she would answer.
She answered and they let her come home.
Then Elsie came home.
Break my heart.
She tried to be so brave....then she and Cassi started looking through the book grandma made us years ago and found pictures of Gramps and she broke down.
It seemed forever before Porter finally came home.
He could sense that there was bad news to be had.
Oh, I just hate that they have to deal with the sadness, but it is also okay.
It is okay to be sad.
Because if we didn't feel sad, then it would mean we didn't love him as much as we did.
So really, the sadness proves that love.
Anyway.
We just spent the evening together.
It was kind of quiet.
Vern stopped by with some goodies to take on our trip.
And then just now, Justin and Sherrie stopped by with a treat basket as well.
We have had so many sweet messages sent to us and prayers offered for our family.
We truly appreciate them and feel lifted up. ❤

We were just talking last week with you guys about how good your dad was doing! That he was becoming so much more spiritual and even singing the hymns in church. He loved your family so much, and I am sure that his reunion with his sweetheart was so sweet! I am glad that they are together now. He truly was a great man! Full of love, compassion, and hard work. We pray for you and all your family at this time of mourning. Travel safe!
