Thursday January 11 AND Friday January 12 (add beach pictures)

Since we haven't really slept.......this post will count for the last two days :)
Our original checkout time for the hotel was 11 a.m.....but our flight wasn't until midnight.
So Brent went and asked if we could have a few extra hours....and they did.
Well, we had to be out of the one side, but we could stay on the other side with the kitchen until 6.
So that helped out a lot!
That way we could still have beach time, and be able to get showered and cleaned up before heading to the airport.
I talked everyone into letting me get a family beach picture :)
Then we got changed and swam at our beach until lunchtime.
For lunch, we pulled out everything we had leftover in the kitchen and had a smorgasbord lunch!
We had cereal, oatmeal, PB&J, chips with cheese melted on, Eggo waffles, leftover fruit, and juice.
Once we ate, we decided we wanted to go try and find a different beach.
We drove to Big Beach, which was beautiful.....but the waves were a little too rough there for body boarding.....
We still played there for about an hour then we drove back to the hotel and swam in the pool for a couple hours before we went and got showered.
We took turns showering since we only had one shower mow that we had to move out of the other room.
I got Elsie and I cleaned up while Cassi, Port and Madi swam, and Dad cleaned out the rental car.
Then Cassi came up.
When Port and Madi came up, they found someone to give our boogie boards too :)
They were a good investment I think!
Many hours of fun!!!!!!
Then Dad came up and we got packed up and made sure we had all our stuff before packing it all in to the and and checking out of the hotel.
Before driving off, we got someone to take a sunset beach family picture for us :)
We still had quite a few hours to spare before heading to the airport.
Dad found a great authentic Hawaiian restaurant called 'DA KITCHEN' that had great reviews.
So we gave it a try, we had to wait about 30 minutes......but we had time to spare :)
Let me tell you, it was worth the wait!
We tried a Fried Spam Musubi......and it was yummy!
Then we had our yummy Hawaiian meal....with very large portions!
We stuffed ourselves, and then ordered Dole whip floats!
Those were very yummy!
The kids still had some souvenir money and they wanted to find a shop.
We couldn't find anything close by us, except for Walmart, which actually had the very best selection of stuff!
The kids found fun stuff and we hung out there until about 9 before we went and dropped the van off at the rental place.
We took the shuttle bus to the airport and then only had about 45 minutes to spare before we boarded the plane.
The flight went really well.
Everyone slept most of the time....except me....I just couldn't sleep until about the last 20 minutes!
We landed in Oregon.....wet, rainy Oregon....and had about an hour before our next flight.
The kids were all good troopers.....so, so tired, but really good about it!!!!!!
The flight home from Oregon went really quick.
Vern was so great to come and pick us up and we got home to a great Aloha sign at the front door with some Hawaiian flowers in the flowerpots....put there by Bubble :)
We all came home, dropped the luggage and fell asleep!
Most of us did....Elsie waited until right before we had dinner to fall asleep, and she woke up pretty darn grumpy!
But at least she wasn't grumpy on the plane!!!!!!
Cassi actually went to school for her after school 'Future City' meeting.
And then she went with friends tonight to 'study' for a final........
Madi also went with friends.
Dad and I are just watching a movie with the little ones waiting for the time we can head to bed!
I am sure it won't take long to get us back on schedule.
Being extra exhausted sure messes with ya!
Tomorrow we will get unpacked and the big girls have lots of studying to get done for the finals they will be taking next week!
But it was so worth it!!!!!!!
What a great trip.
Yes, some fighting....but really just when we were over-tired or over-hungry!
The kids were always so thankful and grateful after each fun thing we got to do.
What an adventure with so many special memories made!
A trip we will never forget
