Penguin Plunge

We had a fun Saturday. Every year Walmart, KQFC (radio station), and the firemen, the cops, and a few other organizations get together to raise money for the Special Olympics. The firemen and cops jump in the water every half hour into a pool full of ice water, for 48 hours. This year Brent got to be their rescue swimmer...so he put on his nifty little suit and sat in the pool the whole time while the crazy people jumped into the freezing cold water! He didn't have to do much, but there was one kid who was a little scared to jump in, so Brent helped him in and out...it really was very sweet, people of all different abilities were jumping for such a great cause!!! It was really a cool thing. And just when it was all over, and we were leaving, someone told one of the guys they would give him $100 to jump back in, so Brent put his suit back on, got in the pool, the kid jumped, and as he was getting out, someone else said they would give him another $100...so he jumped again...then it was into the hot tub for him...anyway, today alone they raised $6000, in the couple hours we were there I think, and total, with the firemen and cops jumping, they raised I think over $25,000. Pretty cool! Anyway, I just thought you all would enjoy some pictures!

I can't believe all the ice in the water this year. Isn't it cold enough with out the ice!!?? Anyway, I think it was really neat that Brent got to participate this year.

That looks SO COLD!!! Good for them though. Tell Brent what he did was awesome! I'm sure your girls were glad to be all bundled up in their winter coats.

Do they really have to add ice?
