She is almost there!

So Elsie will be 18 months on the 20th and she is making great progress.

Here is a little video...if I can get it to work...of the beginnings of her starting to crawl on her knees. She is really doing so good. She is good about pulling her left knee in, but her foot turns inward and she ends up just laying on her tummy or sitting up...so we are working on gettting her to turn that foot out and then pull her right leg in. She's a trooper!

Sweet little Elsie works so hard to get her little body to cooperate with what she wants it to do, but she is learning how to do it...and before we know it she will be walking!!!

I love the proud giggle of dad in the background as he sees his daughter making so much progress, and the wiggly camera as he tries to both watch AND film her...

You must all be so happy that she's making such great strides! Congratulations Elsie!

That is so exciting! I love her pouty lip! What a sweet girl! Hey, did you dye your hair? It looks kind of dark in this video.

You are absolutely the ONLY person who noticed Sara...yes I did...I thought my skin was to paisty white to have such blonde hair, so I made it just a little darker...thanks for noticing.

Elsie does have a big bottom pouty lip that can stick out for miles...

Okay so you don't know me but we would be great friends since you are a friend of Summer's. She asked me to watch your video to see if Elsie has any similarities to my little Navy. Navy has cerebral palsy, and though it is mild, it still affects her walking, running and balance.
Navy didn't crawl until about 20 months or so and it wasn't normal. (what is normal right?) I didn't really notice anything was wrong until she tried to walk. She walks on both tippy toes and both feet, especially her left foot turns in which she drags. She has learned to run and get around just fine thanks to her determination to keep up with her siblings. I am not sure if you have done it already, but I would take her to a pediatric orthopedist (a regular one if he/she is really good would suggest you go see the peds ortho anyway since they specialize in kids) and see what they think of her leg(s). They may suggest as they did with Navy to go to a neurologist to confirm and diagnose exactly what was affecting her. She has done therapy and legs braces. She most recently has done botox therapy which they inject 3 muscles in both legs in order to relax them so we can stretch and hold the position with the braces. They did even cast her legs which was horrible for her. But she has come along way. Seriously, she even can jump on the tramp which she jumps and lands on her tip toes..amazing.
Elsie will figure someway to crawl around, I can tell she is fighter anyway. She is a pretty little girl and if you have any questions, let me know! Love your blog...and your hair!

In "Lily-nese," she says that Elsie is doing AWESOME! She looks great! I love how easily she is cheered up.

And, sorry, we didn't notice your hair! All of our attention was on Elsie's awesomeness!

Loves!
