Friday August 10

108 degrees today!!!!!

I went running before it got too hot.

Then we got started on yard work.

Lawns mowed, grass trimmed, weeds picked.

Lots of hard work got done so Dad could get water on the grass.

The grass hasn't been very happy in this heat while we were gone!

That is pretty much what we did all morning.

After Dad went to the gym we went swimming at the Morgan's house.

It was nice to have a cool off!

Thursday August 9

My awesome family got up early for me and got ready and we did family pictures!!!!!!

Yay!

We found a fun spot where we could see the Tetons in the background.

And everyone was cooperative and happy and it didn't take to long.

We headed back to the hotel and got all packed up.

We went in to town and did some more shopping and looking around.

Dad found some heart rocks at a cool rock store and made a heart family for me.

But we just took pictures since the rocks were too expensive!!!

We ate some lunch and stopped and got some treats for the road, and then headed home.

We had fun looking for license plates (during the whole Yellowstone trip).

We ALMOST got all the states!!!!!

So close!

We couldn't believe all the ones we did see!

It was a beautiful drive home!

Everyone did well on the ride.

And now we are back home, with lots of yard work to do, and cleaning and getting ready for school!

This summer went by so fast!!!!!!

Wednesday August 8 (add pictures)

Well, it was an amazing day today in Yellowstone!

Everything that Elsie bug could have ever hoped for!

Before even going into the park, we came across hundreds of buffalo crossing the street!!!!

It was awesome!

We got out and watched as they jumped the fence on one side,  crossed the road and walked over to the other field.

We watched for a good 10 minutes!

Just a few minutes before that, we pulled aside to take pictures of the Tetons.

If we hadn't have pulled over then, we would have totally missed the buffalo!

It was meant to be!

We saw all the awesome sites, and had a great time.
I will add more stuff and more pictures later.

We need sleep!

Tuesday August 7 (add pictures later because they won't load with this wifi!!!)

We left Gramps house a little after 10:30 this morning.

We made the pretty drive to Jackson.

As we passed through Star Valley we stopped to see the temple.

It is just so cute...just itty bitty!

We got to Jackson and got unpacked at the Hotel.

First thing we did was take a ride on the Cowboy Coaster.

Kind of like the alpine slide, but a little more intense :)

Then we went walking around the fun shops.

We had dinner at Bubbas, just like last time we came :)

Poor Cassi had an incident.

When they gave her plate to her, the little container of bbq sauce was on her fries, and it was unsteady and lost it's balance, falling all over her lap!

But the worst part was it was super hot!!!!!

Burning her skin!!!!

Madi was so sweet to go in and help her wash her shorts up a bit.

It was kind of a bummer, but the restaurant did comp her meal, so that is nice.

We stopped by a couple stores to get some snacks and stuff for the road trip through Yellowstone tomorrow.

We came back to the Hotel and took a quick swim in the pool.

And now we are all cuddled in our little hotel room, and excited about our full day tomorrow!

Monday August 6

We got up and got packed and headed for Wyoming a little after 12:30.

Stopped by to see Grandma for a bit.

And brought chicken dinner to Gramps :)

The boys helped Grandpa with some yard work....those sure are some cute Matthews boys!!!!!

Tomorrow we will go to Jackson for the night and then go to Yellowstone from there.

It will be a fun time the next few days!

Let's hope we can get some sleep!

Sunday August 5

I forgot I had to wake up and get to Ward Counsel early this morning.

So I got up and ready and headed out.

Emmy got her stuff packed up while I was gone.

I got home and she left for home a little after 11.

The little ones had so much fun with her while she was here!

Isn't she just the greatest?!?!?!?!?!?!

We went to church and had a nice day.

After church Dad made us a yummy dinner.

Bubble invited us over to her house for dessert.

The Leavitt's and Edwards wanted to hear about our Trek experience :)

So that was a fun time!

Now we plan to get packed up again and head to Yellowstone!!!!!

Man, these last few weeks have been packed full!!!!!

Saturday Aug. 4

What an amazing experience!

TREK was amazing and I hope to write it all down tomorrow.

But Today we rolled in to the church parking lot about 4:30.

Exhausted.....VERY DIRTY....and spiritually fed :)

When we got home, we were very excited to see the little ones and Emmy.

We ordered pizza for dinner.

Cass had told s family she would babysit for them, so after a good shower and dinner, she left for that.

The rest of us watched 'Isle of Dogs'.

And I am excited to get to bed!!!!!

Hopefully Cassi isn't out for too long!

Wednesday August 1 (add pictures from Elsie's shots.....and ice cream :)

It has been a crazy day getting everything ready for Trek!

Tomorrow is the day....so you won't see any posts for a few days.

My day started with an early run, for sanity.

Then I took Elsie to the dr for her shots.

She tried so hard to be brave!

But her emotions took over and it was pretty rough for a bit.

But she got calmed down and all was good.

We went out for Ice cream at Sonic and all was good.

We spent the day cleaning the house and making sure all was put together for Trek.

Max went to Scouts with Port.

Then the kids went swimming at the Morgan's for a bit.

Then this evening we took our Trek gear so it could all be loaded up for tomorrow morning.

Emmy got here safe and sound and the little ones are so excited!

I am sure they will have a great time without us!!!!!

Tuesday July 31 (add pictures)

Well, now another month has passed.

I can't even believe it!

So today I got grocery shopping done right after Dad left for work.
So I had that done before I even went to the gym.

I felt very accomplished!

I got home and Port had to help me figure out what was wrong with the pump

He was a pretty awesome helper!

He knew just what to do...….there was just one little step that he didn't know about that Dad had to help.

(You have to press the nozzle thing inside the tube to prime it.....he didn't know about that step.)

But it was fun for him to know exactly what I needed to do :)

I showered and then I had a YW meeting to go to.

I took Port with me to hang out with Koy and Titan.

The rest of the day was getting Trek stuff done and laundry.

I also made pads for the tops of our buckets.

Not much else happened today.
Elsie did get the dishes unloaded and loaded.

That is a new chore that she has started to do.

It is pretty fun to see her do the big girls things!

When Madi got home from work, she got her bucket packed.

Then She took Cassi and Porter and Mater to Mary Mac to hang out.

They had a fun time.

Emmy comes tomorrow, so we are excited for that!

Not so excited for.....the shots I have to take Elsie to in the morning :(
