Tuesday April 8

This poor little puppy had some work done today.

Brent took him early this morning and brought him home around 5 this evening.

He was still pretty drugged up when he came home.

When Brent (along with Cassi and Port) pulled up in the truck with mater, Elsie started crying.

Sad that her little buddy was hurt :(

But she got happy quick when he came to her.

And we got a good laugh at his 'Cone of Shame' :)

Poor puppy has been so sad looking all night.

But we were way past due getting this 'procedure' done and I think it will help him from wondering over next door to his girlfriends house......

I taught my photo class in RS tonight.

I think it went pretty well.

I hope I didn't confuse people more....

They said I did a good job.

But at least they know they can come to me if they have more questions.

I am just glad it is over!

 

Monday April 7

It wasn't a very crazy day today.

Which is always nice :)

Port and I went with dad to go get a load of chip rock....in the dump truck!

That little boy was in heaven.

It was just the cutest thing.

I picked Elsie up from school early to take her to PT.

I also took Madi with me and dropped her off at Platos closet, which is about a block away from Katie's, so she could find herself some short sleeved shirts.

She had fun and found a couple things for herself.

Elsie was a  little grumpy today.

I think maybe she hit a growth spurt....cause she has been falling more, and she has been tight, and GRUMPY!

But she is also still super sweet though.

She deals with a lot and I am grateful for her sweet smile every morning :)

After dinner we all listened to one of my favorite conference talks from this last weekend.

It was Elder Zwick.

I just loved everything he had to say.

It was great to listen to it again.

Then we watched Granite Flats....the kids have been dying to watch it with dad (even though it was only on last night :)

It was a pretty great day!

 

Sunday April 6

Another wonderful day of General Conference.

I am glad I have them recorded, cause the little ones weren't as quiet today as they were yesterday :)

But they were pretty good.

The talks that I did hear we awesome, as usual.

Port built a beautiful Lego temple with a little help from the big sisters.

It looks pretty cool....I am surprised we had that many white Legos!

It was another nice sunny day today.

So we spent time outside.

And apparently we are back to the 'clothing optional' phase with Porter :)

We had fun playing together....well, except Elsie.'

She was a little grumpy this afternoon.

Late nights, too many sweets and lots of good hard playing....she is worn out.

So it was early to bed tonight!

For everyone!!!

 

Saturday April 5

It was the Saturday session of the LDS General Conference today.

It was a wonderful afternoon.

The kids had a lot of fun coloring and listening.

I tried a little treat idea.

Each jar had a different candy, and a different word.

If they heard that word, they got to get candy from that jar.

Well, we had to change our game up a bit.

We were up and down too many times during the talks, it was hard to listen....

So instead I gave them some from each jar before each talk, so they could munch on it for during the talk.

There were some great talks.

I really love to listen to General Conference.

I love the feeling I feel, I love the happiness.

I love the messages and the encouragement.

I love the answers I get to prayers in my heart.

I am thankful for the time I got to spend with my kids watching and listening.

I wish Dad wasn't on shift.....

Porter spent most of the time coloring and building with Legos.

I bought some markers for the kids to use.

I do not like markers....so I never buy them.

And I throw them away when they bring them from school.

Not sure why I don't like them.....but I don't.

But it sure was exciting for them to have markers to color with :)

Oh, and some of them were scented.....so we had colored noses (mostly Elsie) for the rest of the day.

And I love the pictures Porter created today.

My favorite was his picture Christ.

He also made a picture of our house on fire....with Dad rescuing us.

Super cute, but I don't want our house to go on fire........

Anyway.

After the last session, we had dinner then we went for a walk on the canal road.

It ended up being over a mile and a half walk for the kiddos.

It was a fun time, but we did miss Dad :(

 

 

 

Friday April 4

 It was such a beautiful sunny day outside today.

Cannon was over playing with Porter all day.

I finally went and dug up some raspberry shoots from my friends and got them planted.

It is looking good :)

After school I had the kids pose for some pictures for me because I am teaching a photo class for Relief Society next week, and I wanted some example pictures....

The card ones turned out fun.

It was to show the difference in shutter speed......catching the motion, and stopping the motion.

Dad worked a few hours but then came back home.

He got some work done outside too.

He dug up my garden....put some better dirt in there and some manure.

I am excited about having a garden....like I always am :)

It really is one of the best things ever!

We had pizza for dinner and stayed out playing until late.

I love the weather like this.

And I am glad it is a weekend....cause all the kids are still up right now....

It's 9:30, and the little ones are usually in bed at 7:30....

Sure hope they all sleep in.

I am so excited for conference this weekend.

But I am bummed that Dad works both days.....

 

 

 

Thursday April 3

Finally a nice sunny day :)

Once we got the girls to school, we got to work outside.

We have been wanting to build a bridge over the canal road.

Eldon told Brent the other day that we should just move their little one that never gets used.

They seriously are the greatest and I think we will never be able to repay them for everything they do for us!

It turned out great.

Port had a fun time puddle jumping :)

And helping dad on the tractor.

We cleaned up all the junk down at the bottom by the canal.

It sure looks nice.

We put down some grass seed, and now we just need to get some gravel to put down for a road to the bridge.

Good thing we have our own dump truck ;)

Madi and Brent went to an amazing Holocaust Survivor Documentary.

They showed a film about the life of an 18 year old woman when she was taken from her family.

 I wish I could have gone too, they both said it was so unbelievable.

Wednesday April 2

Oh man oh man am I tired.

It was a rough night.

But it was a good day, so that makes up for it I guess :)

Elsie woke up around midnight saying her tummy hurt.

I got her a tums and she said she was good.

About 30 minutes later she started to whine again....saying she had a tummy ache.

I was trying to see what I could do to make her feel better.

I offered to get her a bowl just in case she felt like throwing up.

Brought the bowl down, and she said she was thirsty....so I went and got her a drink and got her settled down.....then she threw up.

LUCKILY I had the bowl, so I caught most of in there.....

Poor girl.

I got her cleaned up and then she said she wasn't tired anymore, but felt really good now.

We went up and laid on the couch and relaxed.

I kept asking her if she wanted to go in her nice comfy bed......she kept saying no until about 2, when she fell asleep on the couch, so I carried her down.

I crawled in bed, almost asleep......and then I heard Port crying.

I went to see what was going on, he said he had a bad dream.

I settled him down and then went back to bed.

But he started calling a few minutes later.

So I just took my pillows with me and went and laid in his bed until he went to sleep.

I went back to my bed and at about 5, he started calling for me, mad that I had left. :(

So I went back and tried to convince him to go back to sleep, but he was wide awake.

So I told him we could go upstairs if he promised to let me sleep on the couch.

I should have gotten that in writing...... ;)

Anyway....Elsie woke up just fine and happy.

I ended up sending her to school (mostly because it was class picture day) but also, last time she threw up she was absolutely fine.

I am wondering if maybe it is something she is eating, maybe.....

Anyway.

After lunch, I took Port and we went to Laela's house for her 5 year old Frozen birthday party.

It was a fun time.

I stuck around to help Jenni, cause there were 17 kiddos there!!!!

We came home and picked up the girls from school on the way.

We got home and Madi had to come up with an appetizer and recipe to take with her for a recipe swap for Young Womans.

She made some yummy Churros Poppers.

She did a good job!

After she left (drove herself on the 4-wheeler cause it was at the Morgan's house) we played with the bunnies and took some pictures so I could try and get them sold on Craigslist.

They are such good little bunnies and super cute :)

Madi came home safe and sound and now I am struggling to get the big girls to stop talking and go to bed.

I guess I should be happy they are being nice to each other right???

But I am ready to get to bed!!!!

 

Tuesday April 1

Oh what a fun day it was!!!!!!

Happy April Fools day.

There wasn't much planned before last night when the girls said "I wonder what Dad has planned!"

So I sent him a text to give him a heads up :)

He had me do a few things after the girls went to bed.

I set Madi's phone to go off with a rooster alarm :)

But I also wrapped her phone up in saran wrap.......ha ha ha....

I moved Cassi's bed around her room.

I tried to move it to the other wall, but it was not a quite thing to move, and I did it very slowly to make sure she would stay asleep!

I also put a little cup of water on top of the door in the bathroom for when Madi went in the morning :)

He also had me put salt on all of their toothbrushes...

Porter came in to bed with me about 1 last night and he was awake at 5 with an April Fools idea.

He thought it would be so funny to hide the basket of socks from the girls.

Yes, it is just a basket....I don't fold socks.

I just put them in a basket.

If they wanna fold, they can....but they usually just dig for what they need.

Hey, that's how we roll around here.

So when we got up, Port and I hid the basket and put an empty one in it's place.

It was a great idea :)

We had breakfast and the girls planned pranks for Dad.

Madi felt like she was running late, so she rushed down after we ate and got socks.

We heard a yell "WHERE ARE THE SOCKS????"

Ha ha......

Then she came and tried to put her shoes on, which I had stuffed with toilet paper in the toes :)

Awesome!

Then she rushed the brush her teeth....yep you guessed it.

SALT!

She was such a good sport though.

She had quite a few prank planned out herself.

Oh we moved the couches around before dad came home.....

Madi put those firework poppers on the ground outside the garage door and inside the door, so dad would pop them as he walked in.

Somehow, he missed all of them :)

Madi had left for school before he came home, but he saw her at the bus stop and waited with her for the bus to come.

Once he was home, we continued to get ready for school, and play pranks.

Dad stacked up egg cartons in the cupboard door, then asked Cassi to get him a cup :)

They all fell out on her.

Cass wanted to ride the bus, so she left a bit early.

Dad told her she could take the umbrella if she took good care of it.

When she opened it, he had stuffed it with those poppers, and they all fell out and exploded.

It was perfect :)

She was off and then we got Elsie ready and she went to school.

She was excited to go and tell her aids that she had gotten a buffalo.

It was so funny, because they believed her :)

Then she told them April Fools, and they all laughed and thought that it was so great.

So the morning went good.

After lunch, Porter was supposed to go to preschool.

But he was crying and not wanting to go.

So weird.

He was acting just like Cassi did last year.....all those terrible mornings.

I told Brent I must be doing something wrong.....

Or maybe something right, because they just want to be with me all the time :)

Anyway.....He cried the whole way to his teachers house and then wouldn't get out of the car.

So I went and talked to his teacher.....

We will try on Thursday.

He kept saying "I just want to be with my family.  I just love my family SOOO much!"

Port and I talked about maybe sticking a family picture in his backpack for Thursday.

He pinky promised he would go, so I am sure he will stick to it :)

Oh I hope so!!!!

Then I took him grocery shopping with me.

Then the day kind of went by fast.

Madi came home and then I went and got the girls.

Dad and I started dinner, which was the fun part about today.

Port was in on it too.

We made a meatloaf cake :)

Meatloaf covered with pink mashed potatoes, and birthday candles on top.

It was a big hit with Elsie!

Then Porter set the table with silly things for out plates and forks.....We had some awesome stuff!

Pot lids, measuring cups, popcorn tubs, juice pitcher lids, tongs :)

It was awesome!

Earlier I had made Jello and put in cups to set up.

That was something I didn't tell Port about, so he was surprised when he couldn't drink it out!

Priceless!!!!!

We also put our salad in the juice container, and mugs to eat our salad out of.

It was a big hit with everyone!

Then for dessert I made some strawberry shortcake, with gummy worms hidden inside.

Yummy.

Lets see....there were a ton of other pranks.....

The girls had some Elmers glue dried and painted it with finger nail polish, and put it on the floor with the polish tipped over.

It got me good, I walked in and started yelling at the girls to come and clean it up :)

Madi covered my laptop with post it notes and she put a fake calendar cover up that had a reminder to pay the kids $1000 each.

When Port was in his room playing with Cassi, Madi, Elsie Dad and I taped poppers to the top of his door and yelled for him to come and they all popped all around him.

Great stuff!

Oh and just as Madi was getting ready to get in the shower, Dad made it so the shower was locked on, and it was aimed right at her when she turned the water on.

Again, she was a great sport :)

I am sure there is way more that I am forgetting to write down.

But it is safe to say that it was a really fun day for all of us :)
