Day 3-Cancun Trip 2010 (part 2)

CENOTE'

After Chitzen Itza, Carlos took us to a yummy restaurant.

Then we wanted to swim in a Cenote'.

The Mayans thought that the underground rivers led to the underworld and they used them to make sacrifices.

Cenote's are sink holes where the limestone floor broke through.

Now a days they fix the Cenote's up so you can swim in them.

It was so beautiful.

Really an amazing sight!

Brent would really love to Scuba dive in the underground rivers...we sat by a guy on the plane home who told us all about it and he told us how absolutely amazing it is...too bad I won't be diving it with him...

We weren't there for very long, but I am glad we took the time to do it!
