Day 1-Cancun Trip 2010

We had a blast on our trip...

I decided I would just copy right out of my journal...most of it anyway...so don't feel like you need to read it...

Brent and I are in Cancun with our Friends, the Young's, for our 10 Year anniversary!!! We arrived today...and it has been a long day. We set our alarms for 4:30 a.m....but Madi came in our room at about 4:20. The night before she said she really wanted to say goodbye, and we told her we would wake her before we left, but she must have set her internal clock, cause she came in before our alarms ready to give us loves and goodbyes. Really early for her, but luckily for Emily, she did go back to sleep! Everything went smoothly with the plane. We got here at about 3:00 Cancun time. But not everything went right when we checked in the Hotel. The didn't give us our King bed, instead they had only two double beds...same for our friends...Brent wasn't happy...we were tired and didn't want to deal with PROBLEMS! So Brent tried talking to the lady who was working with the Young's and, it is funny now, but she really snapped at him and told him that she wasn't talking to him...oooh...she sure knows how to stoke the fire. Well they talked some more about what to do...she offered an upgrade...not free...to an ocean view...and Brent said, to Drew, "Since she is not talking to me, will you tell her that we would like the upgrade without the extra cost." (or something like that) Well, the lady didn't like that...but somehow things worked out and we all got our ocean view rooms for no extra cost. And lucky for me...Brent didn't stay irritated for long. There is so much to eat here! Tonight we went to a fun show of Mexican dances. They were so good! Then we ended the night of with a little dip in the hot tubs...Tomorrow we are going to take a Scuba diving class. I hope it goes well. I would love to Scuba with Brent...he loves it so much. It took us a while to figure out how in the heck to call home to check on the kids. Drew finally called Emily who called us on the cell phone. So I got to talk to my kiddos. Everyone had a good day. Madi passed Q in rocket math and is now on R...she was so proud of herself. Elsie sounded happy and so cute...it is fun to talk with her on the phone...I am never the one on the other end of the line with her. She is such a sweetie. Cassi had a good day and is having fun with Emily. I didn't get to hear Porter...but Em says that he was good for her today. I only hope he is good for her tonight. Oh I miss my sweet little bugs! But I am so excited for this time I get to spend with my honey! 10 years! That is just so crazy to think about!
