Thursday September 10 - Friday September 11

But they give a good idea of the awesome time we had backpacking with Elsie.

We DID NOT sleep AT ALL!

So heading to bed and I'll write more later ❤️

Elsie is a rock star and she also had the very best imagination!

So much fun!

Wednesday September 9

School went okay today.

There were a few glitches, but mostly it was okay.

I'm sure at some point the district will work out the kinks!

We ran some errands, our friend needed some help because she is selling her boat.

Then when we meet her at the boat place, found out the inspection wasn't finished.

Brent got the place to promise it would be done by tomorrow morning.

So hopefully that all works out tomorrow.

While talking to her, we found out that her disposal has been broken.

This is our friend who's husband died s couple months ago 💔

So Brent went over and fixed it for her.

There was a dime stuck in it.

I'm grateful we had a chance to help her.

She DOES NOT reach out for help!

So I'm grateful Brent was off shift too because we couldn't have helped her without him!!!!

Anyway.

Just praying for now opportunities to help her ❤️

Port, dad and Cassi did some shooting cans in the back.

Then the Edwards boys heard it and they joined in.

They all had a great night together.

Our bike ride tonight was good.

We are getting close to the finish of 150 miles!!!

Then we got in the hot tub, the boys got fresh water in there and heated it up for the cooler weather heading this way!

I'm excited!

We are taking Elsie on her backpacking trip tomorrow.

It will be a bit cooler, but I still think it will be perfect 😊

 

Tuesday September 8

Oh what a day.

Well, it wasn't too bad.

Cassi had her first day of online school.

Elsie and Porter will start tomorrow.

There were a lot of technical difficulties and she was unable to log on for the second half of the day.

The issues were district wide....so hopefully they can get it fixed soon.

I am doing a small groups personal training at the gym, so I had my first class today.

It was a good one.

I also did a short run...since Tues and Thurs are my usual run days...I was feeling the need to run :)

There were a few errands ran today....

Cass had her first Rugby games!

I admit, we only said she could play because we thought for sure there wouldn't be games......

We were wrong.

She was worried!
But she came home so ecstatic!!!

We are unable to watch the games for now....so we didn't see it.

But she rocked it!!!!!

And came home uninjured, so that is a bonus!!!!

She was so cute talking about the game!

She lit up and looked exactly like excited little Cassi when she was a toddler!

It was the best.

Now, if we can just keep her uninjured!!!

 

Monday September 7

It was so windy today!

We have several tree branches broken off.

But no shingles have been off 👍🏻

Woohoo!

The morning wasn't super windy yet, so I did get to go run before the strong wind came.

Then I worked in the garden for a while and cleaned the kitchen...

Port hung it with Cannon and Trent.

Elsie went and hung out with Sierra for a few hours.

And Cassi hung out with her friends, like always.

We lost electricity for a little while.

But it came on in time for me to make (reheat) dinner.

Then we worked on getting computers ready for school tomorrow.

Although, really only Cassi had school.

The virtual schoolhouse wasn't quite prepared for the overload of people.

So tomorrow will only be an orientation for them.

But I think we are all ready.

It's gonna go good 👍🏻

Sunday September 6

So I think this is the first Sunday during quarantine that we haven't been able to partake of the sacrament!

And next week it sounds like we are going back to church.

I don't know if that is only once a month or what...we will see.
Anyway, we did fast today.

Then we had a mini religious discussion as we listened to Conference talks.

Port then had a roadside chat with the Edwards boys for several hours.

Madi and Logan went hiking today.

I guess that's gonna be their Sunday tradition, which sounds amazing 💗

Elsie had her birthday interview with the bishop and that was a zoom.

It was nice talking with him for a bit.

Cassi, Elsie and I watched Frozen 2.

We had plans to do our Come Follow Me after Elsie's interview.....but then we got side tracked.

So maybe we will do that tomorrow.

We got some sad news today.

We learned that Cassi's seminary teacher from last year, and Madi's from a couple years ago, was killed in a rock climbing accident.

So so sad.

Cassi is having a hard time with it.

She's been playing "Peace in Christ" on the piano ❤️ wanting some kind of comfort.

Just so sad.

You just never know what might happen.

Cherish each day, show love don't hold back.

We pray for his sweet family that they may feel comfort and peace.

Elsie and I finally went bike riding with Vern!

She has been gone, they biked the Hiawatha trail.

So she is back and we biked 4 miles.

Bubble stopped us and she told me that she must have bought my bag of chips at the store because she found a bunch of heart shaped chips :)

So she saved them to give to me!

She is the greatest!

 

Saturday September 5

Oh man...we are slowly but surely creeping up on school!!!!!

Just a couple more days!

This evening, dad gave the kiddos a father's back to school blessing.

(I'll add that he said tomorrow)

It was sad not having Madi and Logan there......missing them ☹️!

Today was a busy day.

I went for a run.

We got to watch sweet Henley her baptized over soon today.

She is just the sweetest little spunky kid and I am so grateful we got to be a part of her special day as she chose to become a member of the church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints!

It was a beautiful program and I could feel the spirit so strong!

I just love that family ❤️

Dad and Porter weather together with welding and tractor-ing.

They make a good team and it's the cutest thing!

I weeded my strawberry patches and also worked in the garden.

It was SO HOT today!!!!

This evening, dad and I went out to dinner.

It was nice to get out.

Sure love the time when it's just he and I!!!
