Happy Mother's Day.
I was given some pretty sweet gifts.
Porter found his gift for me several weeks ago at a neighbors yard sale.
It is a duck made out of cattails, and then has a beaded head :)
He was so excited about giving it to me....so sweet.
Elsie made a cute button bracelet for me in Activity days, actually, she has one too, so we have a matching pair.
I love it!!!!!
Cassi wrote me the most beautiful poem:
I have a friend who is special
Who always has time for me
She always has time for my siblings
and to my heart she holds the key
This friend has a name like all others
But she takes on a title instead
She's worth more than diamonds and rubies
My entire family she has led
The credit is not what she works for
The praise is not what she strives
But instead it's to help with our futures
She's always improving our lives
This incredible persons my momma
The center of all of our hearts
She's there when we need her like always
From our minds she will never part
Isn't that the sweetest!!!!!
Madi gave me a beautiful ink drawing of flowers that she has been working on.
I love it and can't wait to hang it up.
And even though I'm not his mom, Dad even got me a gift.
It's not here yet, but he got me a new camera bag....don't worry Dussy boy, it is still a backpack!!!!!
It has been a beautiful day outside today.
We did get some rain while we were in church, and it smelled so good when we got out.
For the third hour they had it organized so all the woman in the ward could have treat and sit and talk with one another.
The YW took care of the primary kids, making cards and then coming in and singing to the woman.
It was sweet.
After church. Dad made me a fantastic steak dinner for Mother's Day dinner :)
I am blessed to have the family I do.
But more than that I am blessed to have so many woman surround me that have taught me how to be a good mom.
Even though I am still trying......always will be trying.....
As I have thought about my own mom, and the way she was so good at encouraging me in my interests.
That made a major impact on me in my life......made me feel like i had something to offer the world.
That is a great gift to give a child!
I feel like that is something I have tried to do with my kids.
They are each so different in the skills and talents they have, and I love to see them flourish in what they love.
And from my other mom....Grandma Ene.
We sure miss her, but especially on days like this.
She, above all else, taught me unconditional love.
She was full of love for others.
She not only had sympathy for others, but empathy as well.
She always tried to think of ways to make the lives better for others around her.
I hope I can be like her someday.
The night ended with a beautiful rainbow arching over our home :)
See my pretty bracelet :)
