Friday January 31

I got the shelves all painted.
Then went for a run outside.
It was a nice day today.
It's like springtime!!!!
Oh, I signed up for a half marathon for June in Utah!
The Saturday before our Peterson family reunion, so that works out perfectly!!!
Dad got the shelves and desk all installed for me.
Hopefully we can get the floors in soon!!!
Madi and Logan got here around 6, then we all loaded up and headed to McCall.
It will be a quick trip, but hopefully a fun time!

Thursday January 30

I helped in the office this morning...which was kind of weird!
I usually do it in Wednesdays, but I swapped for the Thursday person this week.
Anyway, it kind of threw me off this morning 😂😂😂
Dad didn't get to work much in the mudroom while Port was at school, because he wants to help.
It's pretty cute!
The got the shelves up, maybe I can pant then tomorrow before we head to McCall!
The desk part is ready, but I just want to get the shelves painted before we install that 👍🏻

Wednesday January 29

I let Elsie sleep in and took her to school a little after 9:30.
Then I went and did some shopping....for some wedding stuff.
I can't home and ate lunch.
Then Vern and I went to Mary Mac and took pictures of the kids in Max and Porter's class for our art smart lesson next week.
It should be a fun one 👍🏻
Back home and I painted my 'command Central'.
It's looking good.
I stained the desk too that will go in there.
The picture looks funny because the two different sections of the room has different light bulbs, but the desk matches nicely with the floor 😊
Hopefully we can get the floor and desk installed tomorrow.
We didn't have YM/YW this evening because of the temple trip yesterday.
Cassi had a few ward friends over to hot tub.
Then they all got to bed at a good time 👍🏻

Tuesday January 28

So Dad took a few hours off today so he could go to the ARP meeting this evening.
So he worked on getting the shiplap on the wall.
I'm so excited!!!!
He made the desk part, but I need to paint the walls and stain the desk before we install that.
Hopefully I can do all that tomorrow, then we can put the flooring in on Thursday 👍🏻
Pretty happy about it so far.
The kids had a temple baptism activity this evening instead of mutual tomorrow.
I didn't go, because I was with Dad.
But it sounds like they had a fun time.

Monday January 27

The boys did some good work today in the mudroom space.
They got the floor put in for my "command central" 😉
There ran electrical.
Port loved every second about learning electrical wiring!
He just loves working with Dad!
For FHE dad and I decided that this year we want to teach the kids from it ARP manual.
These steps are for anyone who wants to improve the life.
It's for everyone!!!!
Anyway, there are 12 steps, and there are 12 months.
So we will teach 1 step per month.
I'm pretty excited.
This evening we talked about Honesty.
I took a picture of Cassi's notes because we really just discussed a bunch of stuff, and I didn't have any concrete stuff.
We talked a lot about being honest with yourself.
When we try to talk ourselves into things we know we don't want, that is being dishonest.
We, of course, talked about being honest with our fellow men.
We let pride enter in because we are embarrassed or angry.
Pride and honesty cannot coexist!!!!
We must soften our hearts, we must humble ourselves.
We talked about a lot of things and it was a really great discussion.
I look forward to more of these nights ❤️

Sunday January 26

I do really like Sundays.
But today, we had a really grumpy boy....like all day total grump!!!!
This evening I felt his head and it was a bit warm, so I am embracing myself for a sick kid.
He always get SO ROTTEN when he is sick!!!!
Anyway.
Dad and Port both had meetings before church.
After church, I had a meeting with my YW girls.
Then after that Brother Harker was able to set apart Port and Elsie for their callings.
Elsie painted a picture for the 4 the Ability program.
They invited the kids to create a shirt design.
I think hers turned out really cute :)
Cass went to Kendyl's house to help her ask a boy to the sweethearts dance.
Then we had dinner....a yummy beef stew that Dad made.
So good!
And then we did Come Follow Me.
After that we played a few rounds of Dos.
It was a nice night and we got the kiddos to bed.
We are all tired....
I sure hope we all stay well for this weekend coming up!
We are going to McCall and Madi and Logan are coming and we will take some engagement pictures.
So we gotta not be sick!!!!!!

Saturday January 25

Today was a great day.
We got a lot of stuff done.
Elsie didn't fight about putting her clothes away, because Carley was coming over at 11:00 and she needed to have her stuff done before she could come over!!!!!
Dad and Port deep cleaned the car and then they went to Lowes and bought supplies to start working in the mudroom.
They got the tile busted out and then the wall made to divide the two spaces.
I am super excited about it and I love my boys working together.
The are a pretty great team :)
Then Dad and I went out with some friends for dinner tonight.
It was a nice time....we went to Brick 29 and it was so good.
We really love that place!
Then back at home and we watched Frozen with the little ones and got them to bed.
Cass is with her friends....hopefully not too late!

Friday January 24

Once we sent the kids to school, dad and I took a nap.
A good 2 hour nap.
Neither of us feel 100%....and neither of us had been getting good sleep.
So a nap was needed!
Then we worked out.
Dad came with me to take Elsie to her swim therapy.
She was a stinker at first, but then she got it there and showed dad he new skills.
Pretty cool!
I can't wait to see where she is at with swimming a year from now!!!
Then this evening, Cassi asked Josh to sweethearts ❤️

Thursday January 23

WE got to celebrate Dads birthday today.....
He is on shift but this is what I posted on Instagram:

He was born later in his parents life and they would always talk about what a treasure he was to them. One could call him spoiled, but he would just call it 'very loved'.
He holds that same role as the head of our family....very loved and treasured.
Again, one might call him spoiled with all the love and attention he gets around these parts.
He is the one everyone wants to sit by when watching a movie, his is the team they always choose to be on, they love learning from him, they love working with him and he always gets the biggest hugs. I'm not jealous.
There is just something so special about him that I feel lucky to be able to live this life with him. Happy birthday to my best friend, my everything.

I really am so grateful for him.
Grateful he was born ❤
So my day did not go so great this morning.
I called in as a stand-by for jury duty and I was told that I was, in fact, supposed to go in on TUESDAY!!!
He said that he will tell the judge there was a misunderstanding and they will reschedule me for Jury Duty in march.
I spent the next two hours trying to figure out how it went wrong!
I KNOW I did not hear the numbers wrong!!!!!
I have been so worried about not doing it right, so I was so careful and listened to the full messages each time I called in.
I wrote down the numbers I heard them say.
I am just utterly confused and I guess super embarrassed.
I was so careful!!!!
How did I do it wrong?????
See, I am working myself up all over again.
I was very flustered and mad and all the feelings this morning.
I finally decided to go for a run.
I ended up going 7.5 miles.......trying to run off the stress, I guess.
I feel so dumb :(
Anyway, then I went to the store to buy a few supplies for Dads birthday cake.
I made the cake...it is Bubbles recipe that she always makes for him.
Lemon Blueberry cake.
We made dinner then we went to the station.
I was VERY grumpy with the kids before we left.
I am just tired and I think this morning took a real toll on my mood.
So maybe it is a good thing Dad got to be away from me on his special day :)
Anyway....it was so good to see him for a minute and celebrate him with his guys.
We checked out the fire truck and engine then headed home.
I am really looking forward to sleep and also doing nothing with the birthday boy, a day late.
That will be my birthday gift to him ❤❤

Wednesday January 22

I worked in the office this morning.
Then I went and got some stuff at Hobby Lobby and went and picked up my antibiotics.
I was hoping I could get over this without it….but it's not happening :(
My head has been wanting to explode all day and my eyes are going blurry.
So I took the meds and then I went to sleep.
I got up just before Cass came home.
Then I worked on some drawings of the mudroom.
Hopefully one of our next projects :)
That mudroom is a disaster!!!!
Then we had YM/YW tonight.
I cant just call it YW anymore.....because Port gets to come!!!!
The girls all had planning meetings.
And Port got to carve soap :)
I had a board meeting after, so I got home real late.
I am still not in bed, probably because of my nap.
I am on stand-by for jury duty tomorrow :(
Of all the free days I could have gone in and I have to do it on Brent's birthday!!!!
Hopefully it doesn't interfere with me making him and cake and s visiting him tomorrow evening!!!!

Tuesday January 21

So I did not have Jury duty. Dad and I sent the kids off to school and then we worked out. We went to a funeral for Virginia Hawkins. She was such a sweet and talented lady, full of love. Madi was her ministering sister and she would have loved to be able to go today...but she had to stay at school. Anyway. It was a beautiful service. We went back and helped clean up after the luncheon. And by then, the kiddos came home from school. Then it was piano practice. We had hamburgers for dinner, and that was yummy.
Emmy sent me a beautiful star for my early birthday present.
It has our 2020 family theme etched on it.
I love it so much!!!! This evening Dad and I had a meeting. Since July, I have been attending ARP meetings with him, almost every Tuesday night. I have come to LOVE these nights. We both gather so much strength from others around us. These meetings really should be for EVERYONE!!!!!!!! Anyway....tonight was especially powerful. We usually have about 5-8 people show up. Today, we kept having people trickle in and we had a total of 20!!!! It was amazing! The spirit you feel there.....your could cut it with a knife! The power we gain from each other, the bonds we form. I am so grateful for this program. Tonight we talked about step 4-which talks all about Truth. There is so much packed onto each step....but this is what I pulled out this evening. There is a paragraph that says: Because of the love and grace of the Savior, you do not have to be what you have been. By calling on the Lord for guidance as you examine your life, you will come to recognize your experiences as learning opportunities. These words hit my heart like a ton of bricks. Everything we go through in this life, EVERYTHING (good and bad), can be used to grow and learn and can be used to HELP OTHERS!!!!!! I am so grateful to have that perspective. Anyway....I hope to share more each week from now on, because this program should be for everyone!!!!! I shared this poem with the group tonight that went along with that paragraph above. I heard it on the 'Dont Miss This' podcast while studying Come Follow Me. I am constantly in awe with how things connect. Like CFM connecting with the step we talked about tonight.... If you are looking, everything is connected. And it is all connected back to the LOVE our Heavenly Father has for us!!!! The Touch of the Master Hand 'Twas battered and scarred,
And the auctioneer thought it
hardly worth his while
To waste his time on the old violin,
but he held it up with a smile.
"What am I bid, good people", he cried,
"Who starts the bidding for me?"
"One dollar, one dollar, Do I hear two?"
"Two dollars, who makes it three?"
"Three dollars once, three dollars twice, going for three,"
But, No,
From the room far back a gray bearded man
Came forward and picked up the bow,
Then wiping the dust from the old violin
And tightening up the strings,
He played a melody, pure and sweet
As sweet as the angel sings.
The music ceased and the auctioneer
With a voice that was quiet and low,
Said "What now am I bid for this old violin?"
As he held it aloft with its' bow.
"One thousand, one thousand, Do I hear two?"
"Two thousand, Who makes it three?"
"Three thousand once, three thousand twice,
Going and gone", said he.
The audience cheered,
But some of them cried,
"We just don't understand."
"What changed its' worth?"
Swift came the reply.
"The Touch of the Masters Hand."
"And many a man with life out of tune
All battered and bruised with hardship
Is auctioned cheap to a thoughtless crowd
Much like that old violin
A mess of pottage, a glass of wine,
A game and he travels on.
He is going once, he is going twice,
He is going and almost gone.
But the Master comes,
And the foolish crowd never can quite understand,
The worth of a soul and the change that is wrought
By the Touch of the Masters' Hand.

Monday January 20

No school today.
I got up early for a dr appt.
Then I went and took some pictures for a senior, that was fun.
The kids here at home did some extra chores (cleaning drawers, etc).
Dad went grocery shopping for me :)
Then he took Cassi and Porter skiing.
They have been asking for him to take them, so they were pretty excited.
Elsie went and hung out with Sierra.
She has PT and I was gonna pick her up at 3, but then Katie cancelled.
So I went for a run outside instead :)
Then I picked up Elsie and we made dinner.
She LOVES mac and cheese.
But I never make it because she wouldn't eat anything else if I did.
BUT....I do make a butternut squash soup that we put on macaroni noodle and sprinkle cheese on it.
She loves it!
And I feel like a good mom getting her to eat a lot of veggies :)
So that is what we had for dinner.
Now I am just waiting for Dad, Cass and Porter to come home.
Elsie is snug in bed.
Back to school tomorrow.
I am on jury duty this week, but I called this evening and it looks like I don't have to go in tomorrow.
We will see if I have to go an of the other days....
Oh and Madi and I got some wedding stuff done today 👍🏻

Sunday January 19

It was a nice day today.
I  do love Sundays.
I had an early morning with ward council.
We got to see cute Porter pass the sacrament ❤
He was so cute!!!!
He wanted to make sure he got to church 20 minutes early, even though he only needed to be 15 minutes early.
I really enjoyed going to Sunday school with Brent ❤️❤️
After church I had my first meeting with our 12s presidency.
We really need to come up with a name for the groups!!!
Anyway, that was fun.
Such great girls!
Then we did Come Follow Me together.
And dad made a yummy pineapple beef with coconut rice dinner.
So good!
Then Cassi and Porter played some ukelele together, and it's just the cutest thing!!!
We ended the night with watching book of Mormon videos and a little bit of Lost in Space 😊
No school tomorrow.
Dad is gonna take Cassi and Porter skiing, do they are excited about that.
Elsie has PT..... Which is just as fun, right 😉
