Saturday December 20

He's HOME!!!!!!!
We are all so happy and things are going so good.
I left the kids and headed to the hospital around 9 this morning.
I thought for sure I would be out by 12.
Well, that didn't happen.
Cassi had a party to go to at 1:00, so I got Stacia to take her.
Which I am so thankful....but lets talk about Stacia.
Lets talk about how I called the kids around 11 to see how things were going and Madi said "Well, Stacia is folding your clothes!"
STACIA!!!!!!
Bum!
I told Madi to out her on the phone and told her thanks but to stop!
What was funny is that she said that Port was making it pretty clear that he didn't agree with what she was doing.
Apparently Madi said he wasn't very nice.
Stinker!
Good thing Stacia knows he is a stinker, and just trying to honor his mama's wishes :)
Anyway....
So she got Cassi to the party, and then Julie brought her home.
It was great not to have to worry about getting her to a from the party.
Meanwhile at the hospital.....
Things were going good.
We made a good home plan for pain management.
He went all night without any IV's so we knew things were good there.
He is still very week in his leg.
It buckles around the knee area with a little weight on it.
But that will get better.
The guys from the station stopped by....no matter how much Brent told them that they didn't have to.
But it was good medicine for the soul.
He works with such great guys.
Such great people who really care about and love him.
....like brothers.
Cheesy?
Yep :)
But seriously, it boosted his spirits.
It's funny, the man who doesn't really like people, was so buoyed up by every single person that came by.
(except when Pete came by during that episode the other day....)
So I told Brent that we must need to schedule daily visits for the next few months to keep his spirits high.
He didn't think that would do the trick :)
He is doing good.
But I do know that things are gonna get hard for him to not be able, or not supposed to do anything for so long.
He is kind of a stinker when it comes to taking it easy.
He doesn't think it is good to just sit around and let your body heal, I guess.
So we finally got out of the hospital and home around 3.
There were some super happy kids here to welcome him home.
And the house was all clean, which was so awesome.
Plus Madi and Porter hung some Christmas lights outside on the porch.
So cute!
We brought all the fun stuff back from the hospital that they used one Brent....
The little breathing machine thing, the arm cuff, throw-up bowl (unused ;).
They had a blast "doctoring' Dad.
When we first got home, I kept reminding him to tighten his stomach when he would try to stand of walk or move.
Well, she picked that up and kept asking him the same thing.
It was the cutest thing.
She would follow us when he was walking and hold him up on the other side of me.
She did a great job taking care of him.
Later this evening Madi had a birthday party and while she was gone we just watched TV and relaxed.
Port, Cassi and Madi are babysitting our neighbors horses until after Christmas....and since it was pouring rain, I drove them (minus Madi) over to do it.
It was so cute to watch them working together.
Makes this mama smile :)
Also this evening, Ms. Piah, one of Elsie's aides stopped by with a Christmas dinner!
I guess she said that her ward did a food drive and they had a few extra.
So they brought it to us.
So sweet.
We are surrounded by so much love and so many people who really care about our family.
It truly is humbling.
Well, we got the kiddos to bed a little late tonight, cause no one wanted to leave Dad.
So good to be home all together again!
