Wednesday April 10

So....took Cassi in for her appointment to talk about her MRI.
Not great news.
Looks like she is gonna need surgery.
We go in on Friday to see what the options are.
So, it looks as if her knee cap did dislocate.
When it did, it broke off a chunk of cartilage.
That chunk is now floating around behind her knee.
So when we talk to the surgeon, we will discuss options to fix the cartilage and they will need to remove the broken off piece.
Then we need to figure out how to fix her loose joints, which is the reason it happened in the first place.
The loose joint fix does not sound like a great thing.....the dr used stuff like 'sawing bone' 'moving bones'....
But then he said he would wait and let us talk to the expert.
The surgeon we are going to has a PHD in Chondral injuries....chondral being cartilage.
So, we will wait and see what she has to say.
Poor Cass is bummed....she was hoping it could be a few weeks of PT and then back to Rugby.
It will be more intense for sure.
But we hope to have her back in shape for Fall 7s.
The rest of my day was pretty hectic running around.
Took Cassi to Rugby to tell the coaches what the Dr said.
Then I went to the church to set up for our YW fireside.
We also had a Beehive pres meeting after setting up.
For the fireside I got Natalie Marti to come and speak.
Her husband and daughter were killed by a drunk driver and she tells the story of how she came to forgive him and how life changing that forgiveness was.
How not forgiving puts you in a prison of your own doing!
Not forgiving is doing more damage to yourself than whoever it is you can't forgive.
It was a pretty great evening filled with the spirit as she shared her testimony of Forgiveness.
How it isn't a one time forgive and done.....it's forgiving over and over and over.
And then again.
70 times 7!
It was a good reminder.
