Sunday June 18

Happy Father's Day!!!!!
We have the best Father in our lives!!!!!!
Dad had to work today, so we did church without him.
It was a nice day, but they were all excited to get home and go visit him at the station!
Madi and I had a camp meeting right after church.
Then we came home and got everyone rounded up and headed to the station with his gifts :)
Again, it looks like we are trying to fatten him up because we got him all his favorite treats!!!!
But, Port did give him a remote :)
It is a spare remote.
Dad has a habit of playing with the remote when we watch movies.....and he always, without fail, changes the channel!
Ha ha ha!
So Port thought the perfect solution was to get him a remote that he can play with and WON'T change the channel!!!!!
And this one we can put in the freezer to make cold....cause Dad like playing with things that are cold :)
He got all his gifts opened and then he got called out on a fire!!!!
I made them HURRY and take a picture before he left :)
Then they got to watch him leave to save the day for someone!
We came home and had some dinner then they spent the rest of the evening outside in the beautiful weather!
I am so thankful for this man and the Father he is!
There isn't a better guy out there to be the dad to our kiddos!
He's everything they would ever need!
*He's always got something to teach the kids.
We lovingly call this time 'down with dad'.....
Whether it's a history lesson, or how to properly chop a tree down, he always makes it interesting and fun for the kids.
*He is the hardest worker I know, and it's important to him that his kids are like that too!!!
*He has the right amount of intimidation needed to be the father of our teenage daughters.
(Very important feature!)
*And he loves their mama something fierce!!!!!!
He really is the best!
I am also grateful to be blessed to have gown up with a dad who was amazing at showing unconditional love!
I never felt like I let him down or disappointed him....even though I know I did!!!!
He always makes sure everyone around him is loved and taken care of.
He is pretty awesome like that :)
And then there is Gramps!
I have never met a harder worker!!!!
No wonder Brent is such a great worker!
Gramps is always on the go.
He and Grandma Ene made it a priority in their family to work together.
And you can ask anyone who knows his family, they are the cream of the crop!!!!!
He is a great leader and example for the Matthews family to follow and I love being loved by him :)
