It was a rough night.
I woke up around 2:30, and it felt pretty chilly.
I thought maybe it was because our bedroom door was shut, and the air just wasn't circulating.
But then I heard the furnace making funny noises, then turn off, then try to turn on again and then shut off....over and over.
I didn't know what to do.
I hate waking Brent up if there is something I can do to fix it......
I checked the thermometer and it had dropped to 63 degrees.
Cold, but not dire cold.
So I went around and put extra blankets on the kids and made sure they were warm.
Then I laid down and tried to go back to sleep.
I kept having crazy thoughts though......what if we were all being poisoned by something the furnace was putting doing??????
Ya, know.....carbon monoxide!
I put my hand on Brent's back to make sure he was breathing......yes :)
Then I made the rounds to all the kids to make sure they were all still breathing.
Seems irrational, maybe.....
But man, I wasn't taking any chances.
And I go a little crazy with thoughts running through my head at odd hours of the night.
So I turned off the furnace and stuck our little heater in the front room to try and keep the temp up.
Well, around 4, Brent woke up.....I explained what I had done, and of course he got to work trying to figure out the problem.
I told him he could just go to bed and we could figure it out in the morning.
But....he didn't listen...
He figured that the condensation pump wasn't working.
He got it to work and we were able to go back to bed.
For a little bit :)
When we woke up, the house had warmed back up.
But Brent wanted to figure out what the problem was.
After a little bit he figured that the pipes in the upstairs bathroom were frozen.
Nice.
So I took the little heater up there to point in the pipes direction.
Then Brent figured that the condensation pipe goes out towards the mudroom and then outside from there.
Well, it was frozen up at the mudroom area.....so none of the water could get out.
So he pulled the tube out and it is in a bucket now and we just need to dump it every so often.
Awesome.
Things aren't always perfect.
But I am so grateful for a man who can figure stuff out and get things working like they should.
No, this isn't fixed yet, and it is a major headache to have to deal with.....but it's all gonna be okay.
Once Brent stopped working out in the cold, he came and sat down, and felt nauseous.
He thought maybe a migraine was coming on, so I told him to go back to bed.
He kept getting up to get ready for church, but still felt lousy.
I just told him to lay down until he felt better.
I told the kids yesterday that I wanted to take a picture of them together before church, so they were all good and let me take a picture.
I needed a picture, #1 cause they looked so cute, and #2 cause I am using it for a gift :)
I let Elsie hold Wuvey, cause it was cold and she didn't want to do it....so I told her she could hold Wuvey, and she agreed.
They smiled quick and we were on our way to church.
Church was good, but then the last 15 minutes of church, Port's teacher brought him to me cause he said he wasn't feeling good.
I just had him sit with me until church was over.
We got home and Dad still felt lousy.
Like the room was spinning.
Porter wrapped up in a blanket and I gave him some Ibuprophen, then we cuddled and watched 'How to train your dragon 2'.
They both felt lousy for a while.
Port started to feel a little better, but instead of laying on the couch, he resorted to kicking and fighting with his sisters.
We had dinner and just hung out.
It was a mellow afternoon.
When I put Port to bed, he felt warm, so I checked his temp.
Gosh dang he was 101.4!
So more Ibuprophen , and he is sleeping good.
Tomorrow is Cassi and porters birthday dr. appt.
Guess his appointment will turn into a sick appointment :(
Poor guy.
I sure hope he (and dad) kick it quick....little man turns 6 this weekend!
