Oh man, it's a been a day.
Dad and I were up early his morning to get more dug up on foundation trench.
Then we left the house with Madi at about 9:15 to go 'Fill the Boot' with the fire department.
We had planned to take Madi and Cassi, and take the little ones to Stacia's house.
But Stacia's Dad is in the hospital....they don't think he will last much longer.
Sad, she just lost her mom about a year ago.
Anyway, so I told her not to worry about the kids, so she can just stay at the hospital with her Dad.
I was going to leave Madi home with the kids, but she really wanted to go.
So we thought we would test the waters with Cassi's babysitting skills.
We have left her with just Elsie before, but not with Elsie and Porter.
I am happy to say that thins went really well :)
And Madi and I had fun at the 'Fill the Boot' with Dad.
Madi went around collecting the money from the guys on the street.
I counted money.
Dirty dirty money....
Man, my hands were black!
We collected about $3600 in the 3 hours we were there, so not too bad.
I wish more guys would volunteer, so more intersections could be covered so more money could be made.
But we had a fun time.
We came home and out builder guys came over to check out what we had done with the trench.
There is one spot that has a drain in it that we need to take out.
A drain that was put there to prevent basement flooding.
Kind of funny, right :)
Don't think it did it's job very well, so we are just taking it out.
Dad got Monday off to finish it up, because the foundation guys will come on Tuesday.
Dad had to leave again around 2 to go and help a family repel down the side of the training tower.....
It was from the 'Light my Fire' auction....to repel down the training tower with firemen.....
And dad was that Fireman :)
He left and I had a bout an hour before I had to head out.
Madi wanted to learn some camera stuff.....
So we played with the camera, digital and film for a little bit.
I can't wait to develop the film to see what we got.
But she took some pretty awesome pictures with my digital one once I left.
I think she's got the eye :)
Which makes me super happy!
Later, I took some tables and chairs over to our neighbors house to set up for the Primary party we had tonight for the primary workers.
Dad came to that around 6:15, and we hung out with friends from the ward and ate and talked and laughed.
It was fun.
The kiddos put together a little Fathers Day poster while we were gone.....and Madi took some pictures.... (Which also makes me happy :)
And they played games....so I think things went well.
It was a busy day, but not too bad.
Now we are watching Monuments Men now, even though we should be in bed.
Oh well, we can sleep in tomorrow.
All following pictures taken by Madi Bell.....
Not altered or edited in any way.
And without any of my help, I had left by the time she took these.
Not too shabby :)
I think I am gonna have to enlarge this old camera one.
I think it is beautiful.
