Even when the work is no fun.....I still love working with my man.

I know that people think I am crazy sometimes.

I know that some people can't work on projects like this without fighting bad....

But this is our thing.

We love working together.

We make a pretty darn good team :)

I am excited for the months ahead of hard work as long as I get to do it with my man.

Today's task was to make sure we had the trench at the correct level for the foundation guys to come tomorrow.

Dad was supposed to work, but he took the morning off so we could get the trench all done.

First we had to pull out that big ol' drain that was in the way.

Not something we needed, not something that even ever did the job it was meant to do......

Dad borrowed our neighbor Billy's tractor to get that thing out.

I am thinking we should form a tractor gang.....you know, like a motorcycle gang, but with tractors :)

I think we would look pretty darn cool going down the road.....

Anyway.

Then we had to break out the fiberglass pipe that was in the way too.

Man oh man I had fun breaking that out.

I am sure I will be feeling it tomorrow.....but it was pretty fun :)

Using a laser thingy that tells us if we are at the right depth, we filled the low spots, and dug at the high spots, then we rented a compactor thing and made it good and compact.

It looks good.

The builder guys came out to check it out and they said it looked better than what their guy would have done.

See, we make a good team :)

I actually drove the dump truck today.....

And dumped it.

Okay Dussy boy, it is pretty darn cool.

And I totally see it's necessity here on our farm :)

After we got that stuff done, we started digging the holes for the posts of the wrap around porch.

The roof of that is tied into the trusses, so they will need to set the concrete for that too when they do the foundation.

So, as long as it doesn't rain a bunch tomorrow......they will use tomorrow to set forms, Wednesday to pour and Thursday to pull out, then Friday we are set to start framing.

So exciting, I can't even handle it!!!!!!

The kiddos played with friends today and played outside and just hung around.

I need to come up with some fun stuff for them to do while we get our stuff done.

They are pretty good kiddos though.

They help out with the house chores and Madi and Cassi are good about helping with the little ones.

Dad left for work about 5:30 and I fed the kids, went grocery shopping, came home and read to the kids and put them to bed, then went for a run.

It's been a full day.
