Happy Mothers Day!!!!!
Well, I won't say today was a perfect day.....
But it was a good day.
Dad had to work, which was kind of a bummer...But I did get to see him this morning, so that's good :)
We hung out and got ready for church.
Well, Port spent the morning trying to create a Ninja Turtle outfit......
And a Star Wars costume.....and an Army guy.....
He did a pretty good job.
But he was really whiny, and not very nice to everyone.
We got to church and almost immediately after the Sacrament was passed, he fell asleep on my lap.
I do have to say, it made for a nice and smooth sacrament meeting where I got to really just sit and listen to the talks while cuddling my boy :)
Elsie started out going to class, but then half-way though sharing time, she started crying.
Not sure what happened.....
I had her sit with me and she calmed down.
He class left and the senior primary came in.
Elsie said she wanted to take her shoes off....I told her she couldn't.......unless eh went to class!
Then she could take her shoes off :)
I didn't think it would work, but it worked like a charm!
She hopped up all happy and excited and went right to class.
That girl is a nut.
Anyway......
I was excited to get home cause I had some yummy BBQ chicken in the crock-pot.
We walked in the house and it didn't smell super yummy like it should have.
I had meant to turn the dial to low from high when we left to church....but I turned it to warm!!!!
So it wasn't done yet.
Luckily, the warm is basically low and low is high and high is major high :)
So it wasn't too long until it was all done......
It worked out, and it was pretty yummy.
*****
Madi wanted to get a picture of the two of us together.
But apparently she is quite picky with what kind of picture she wanted.....and I guess maybe she didn't want me to make funny faces :)
So we took A LOT!
And she liked the funny faces best, so I guess I knew what I was doing.
Guess that's what Moms are for :)
*****
I am grateful for the amazing Moms in my life.
I am Thankful for the friendship that my Mom have formed as adults.
I know I can call her and ask her anything.
And she loves to be able to get things figured out, whether it is the name of a kind of tree, or best ways to garden.....
It is pretty great.
I am also thankful for the encouragement in my art I got from her growing up.
She made sure I had art classes and art supplies.....even bought me my first slr camera.
I am grateful that she saw the love I had for it and helped push me in that direction.
Also, I am beyond blessed to have such an amazing Mother-in-law.
She is so kind and caring and wants nothing more than to spend time with my kids.
She is always there to make the people around her happy.
You can't help but to just want to be around her.
And she raised an amazing man who knows how to treat a girl with respect and love.
So Happy Mothers Day to my Moms....and to all the other amazing Moms who have taught me so much.
I know I want to be a better mom.....
Every day I think that I am probably ruining these kids......
But I know they go to bed each night feeling loved, fed and clean.
So I guess I am not doing too bad.
They are super great kids too.
Even if they have a hard time getting along with each other, they are still pretty great :)
