Friday December 13

Today starts the 12 days of Christmas for us.
We have several traditions that start today :)
One being the secret 12 days of the Nativity.
We pick a family, and each day we give them a piece of the nativity with a card explaining the meaning.....
It is a fun tradition, and also adds a bit of adrenaline to our lives.
The first day isn't bad, but once they know we are gonna come every day, it gets more risky of them seeing us.
The family we chose lives in a hard spot to get away quickly......a very steep drive-way, wide open lot next door, no big trees to hide by.
But we figured it out and they are excited about the next 11 days :)
We also start the Christmas quilt (which we actually started two nights ago).
The little elf came today.
He hides a gift for the kids for the 12 days of Christmas.
One for all four to share.
Today they got window stickers.....one that is making and decorating a tree and the other is making and decorating a gingerbread house :)
And our 12 days advent calendar.
Except, when I hung it up I realized a few things need to be changed.....like one was to go to the dollar store and hide dollars, but that fell on a Sunday....so I need to switch that stuff up :)
Anyway, I guess it is starting to feel like Christmas.
I would love to be all done and ready, but I am not.
Trying to enjoy this time anyway.........
But I think I can enjoy it more when Dad is home so I am not pulling my hair out with the kids while trying to get stuff ready :)
