A little Cassi update....
Things are going good.
When I drop her and Elsie off at school, she has requested that I stay with her until the bell rings.
She doesn't like going out to morning recess.
She says it is hard to find friends.
So I wait with her, the bell rings and things are good and she lets me leave.
I do think Cassi hates being alone.
So it makes sense that she is worried about not finding friends at morning recess.....even though I have witnessed kids flock to her as soon as her face is seen :)
The girl is well loved.
But that doesn't change the fact that she is worried about being alone and friendless.
While I was waiting in line, a little boy in her class told me how cool he thought it was that Cassi was the only girl invited to one of the other class boys birthday party.
Every yells HI to her from across the school yard.
Anyway....I am glad that it is working this way.
I have also been reading Harry Potter with her at night and that has helped the night/getting to sleep situation.
Once we get home, she is fine being with herself....she feels safe here.
So being alone isn't even a worry I guess.
She did some extra chores today that only need to be done every so often.
Brent rigged up a big blue water jug that it hooked to the chicken waterer and the goat water trough.
It works great.
So she crawled up to the loft of the barn where the tank is and filled it up.
Then she spent the rest of the afternoon with her Dad.
Since Cassi has been little she has been quite handy with tools.
She always knows what dad is talking about when he needs her to hand him something.
She listens and is interested when he teaches her about how things work and what needs to be done to fix it.
They enjoyed their time fixing the 4-wheeler today.
I know Dad might think his day was waisted with the bad weather, broken down vehicles, and not getting anything done that he wanted too.....
But I think he did a lot of good with Cass :)
*****
Brent told me that when they went on their date, Cassi told him that she always wanted to be around me because she is worried there will be an earthquake or something bad happen and she wants to make sure she is with me when it happens.
It makes me happy that she feels safe around me :)
And I sure hope something bad doesn't happen when my family is away from me either!
