Tuesday December 13

Soooo....ya.
Madi had it bad last night.
She threw up several times through the night and was pretty miserable today.

But she has high hopes of feeling better tomorrow.
So do I.
*****
Today is the first day of the 12 days of Christmas.
We have a few traditions that start on this day.
First of all, the elf starts leaving presents for the kids.
Little things.
Today they got little parachuting Santa's.
They thought they were pretty cool.
See, the elves watch to make sure the kids are being good.
The second tradition.....we started last year.
We buy a little nativity and deliver one piece a night to someone in secret.
Each piece has a note attached that has something to do with what you are giving on that night.
This year I think we chose a perfect family.
It was tough....we don't know many people around this area.....and we don't want to drive too far to the old neighborhood every night for 12 days.
But after a lot of thought and prayer.....I think we picked the right family.
And our last tradition....
We are starting it this year....so not really a tradition yet, I guess.
I have a friend who has a Christmas quilt.
She has a cute little poem that goes with it that you read on the 1st day of the 12 days of Christmas.
And you rotate the quilt through the night to each member of the family to sleep with.
Then on Christmas Eve, you put the blanket out with the cookies and milk for Santa....
Anyway.
I thought it was a really cute idea, so I decided to make a Christmas quilt for our family.
Right now....it is just a quilt top.
But hopefully tomorrow....or the next day, I can get it fully finished.
I think it will be fun.
I also included some fabric from the stocking I made for us last year (or maybe the year before....?)
So they match.
And you know how I am weird about matching :)

(Don't look too close at our tree, which has fallen over twice...and has yet to be put back together properly....oh well.)
