Friday November 18

I tell ya.....we love it here.
I know I keep saying it.
But it is so true.
This morning we had Madi and Cassi on the 4-wheeler (happily) picking up dead branches and junk around the place.
Porter and Elsie hanging out with the puppy and colored pictures in Dads shop.
As Brent and I walked towards the house, we looked at each other with the biggest smiles on our faces.
He says to me, "Can you believe this?"
It sounds cheesy, but this is a dream come true out here.
The kids had so much fun working together....they even stayed out when it started to snow, until I told them they should probably go in.
Once we went in, they set to work cleaning the kitchen without me asking.
They kept talking about how much fun it was to work together....and I kept telling them to remember how good it feels to get along and work as a team.
We are making some pretty great kids here.
At least I think so.

I can't even tell you how hard these girls worked.
They made a huge burn pile and we had a fire burning all day.
They got along and just kept on going.
They lifted this stump and put it in the trailer, and unloaded it all themselves.
They make me proud.

Isn't this the cutest thing?
Dad made a little seat for Port on the tractor to sit right along side him as he works.
Port thinks it is the greatest!
And Dad is pretty happy to have his little boy right there with him.

Little Elsie isn't a fan of being outside.
But we do want her to be with us....and when she can, help out too.
We set up a little place for her to sit and color and watch a show in Dads shop.
At one point she stuck her finger up in the air and proclaimed "I have an idea!"
Then she told us that she could "decorate Dads place."
Dad said that was a great idea!
So she started to draw some pictures to hang up....then dad pulled out that tree he got from the auction.
She was very excited to get to work to decorate that for Dad.

Look at that, even in the snow they were hard at work.

The little ones enjoyed the snow storm from inside.
There wasn't much snow....and it didn't stick.
But it was fun to watch.
And it made me excited to see our whole place covered with a blanket of freshly fallen snow.
(As long as it doesn't last very long!)

Later on, the Young family stopped by for a visit.
And to meet little Mater.
The kiddos had a lot of fun together.
We are lucky to have such great friends.

It was a good day.
I wonder if the whole break will be this great :)
We will throw some fun stuff in for the kids working so hard.
But like I said, they really enjoyed all that they did today.
We just love it here :)
