Painting!

I wish the kids painted more.
And I wish I could sit down with them and paint.
But at least they got to do some painting today.
We pulled out all the painting supplies, once Porter was down for his nap.
Painting is kind of crazy with him around.
And with Conference in the background, the kids painted away.
Elsie love to get really close.
Even if she had her glasses on, she still likes to get in there close.
The tip of her hair was blue and green by the time she was done.
And she also had paint all over her face.
Silly goose!
Cassi painted a picture of 'The Princess and the pea.'
Very cute....
Madi drew a picture of herself and her best friend Kara...
That turned out quite nice also.
I really wish I would have painted also....maybe next time.
********
So this morning the kids got up and were anxious to pound on the piano.
I was very impressed....Cassi tinkered a round for a bit and figured out how to play Twinkle, Twinkle little star.
I know it is a simple song, but for her to pick it out by ear, I was very proud of her.
Then she taught it to Madi and they played it together for a while.
It sounded quite nice.
I can definitely tell a big difference in the two of them when it comes to learning music....
Madi thinks about it, making sure her fingers are in the right spot and she concentrates hard on what is coming next.
Cass goes at it by the sound it makes.
If it sounds good, she goes with it, if not, she keeps tinkering until it sounds good.
kind of funny.
But I can see both of them doing well, but very different styles of learning, that is for sure!
Then we watched conference today.
Amazing talks, wonderful spirit.....you want to know when my heart was most touched???
The choir started to sing 'I know that my Savior loves me'...
And then my kids started to sing along.
I was suddenly overwhelmed.....the sound of my daughters voices, singing that song along with the Tabernacle Choir....it was just beautiful.
I was thankful for that experience and the wonderful words we got to hear today.
I am looking forward to more or it tomorrow.
