Wednesday February 10

First full day of homeschool!
I think it was a success.
I mean.....
There was a point that I felt stressed and anxiety and scared and confined and like a weight was in my chest.
But it was the weirdest feeling.
I've only felt like that a few times that I can remember and it didn't end good.
But today.....it had a different effect.
Instead of scaring me off, it was almost like the spirit was showing me that it WILL BE HARD but that it will be worth it and that THIS is what I am supposed to be doing with these kids.
That I can push through even when it's hard and I feel like giving up, it was reminding me that I have felt like this before and pushed through and conquered!!!
I don't even know if that makes sense, but it has the oddest way of reassuring me about this whole homeschool thing.
I will be better for it and most of all, these kids will be better.
I don't know if they will be smarter than they would have if they stayed in school, but I feel in my heart that they will be BETTER ❤️
That's enough for me!
Elsie had PT with Katie today.
We had to do retesting so we went to the clinic.
She was so good and worked so hard.
After dinner she was so tired and she chose to go to bed instead of YW/YM.
I didn't think she would really go to sleep... But it was like 7:30 and she was out!
It's been A LONG TIME since she has had a full day of school, and then plus the PT!
Poor girl was exhausted!
I got my box of veggies today and I'm excited about them ❤️
I also added a picture of our school schedule for now.
It might change, but it will look something like this, with sciences and history rotating days and PE and art rotating days.
Today we started our Kingdoms and classifications course for science.
They were both interested and interactive.
It's gonna be good!

Tuesday February 9

I think our first day (half day) of school went pretty good 👍ðŸŧ
It got started late because I have a lifting class at the gym on Tuesdays and Thursdays through this month... So we will have to adjust for that.
Things learned:
Port will need some noise cancelling headphones.
Elsie works well with educational videos to motivate her.
Mom will need to work extra hard on patience, kindness and positivity 😁
But really, it was good.
Later, Port and I went to Costco and bought a new printer and then try target for a laptop.
Then Port had his youth fit class.
It was ARP meeting tonight....I missed having dad with me.
But I sure love our group of people ❤️

Monday February 8

Got lots of school stuff done today!
I have find almost all the curriculum, and I'm excited about it.
We got to meet and talk with our mentor for homeschooling.
We really like her and she is really helpful!
Dad and Porter and Eldon started putting fence up in the pasture and it is looking really good.
I turned in the laptops and PE equipment back to the virtual schoolhouse.
Happy to be done with that!!!
Dad made steaks with his new kitchen gadgets.
It turned out really yummy.

Sunday February 7

It was a really nice day today.

I had a meeting... Dad had a lot of meetings 😂

Sacrament testimony meeting was really nice.

After church, we will had zoom Sunday schools.

Dad was able to come home by that time, and stay.

We broke the fast and made some pigs in a blanket and nachos for our little super bowl party.

Josh came over to watch with us.

It wasn't a very exciting game.... But still a fun night.

Saturday February 6

Got up a little early to head to the gym.
When I got done and home, we started getting housework done.
I worked on getting the art room/homeschool room as set up.
I'm excited 😁ðŸĪŠ
No really, I am.
Kids got laundry put away.
Dad and Porter tore out the fence between the Leavitts and us.
They will be installing a different fence 👍ðŸŧ
With Brent's help, and it's gonna look real nice.
The boys also got the ditches burned, and adjust burned the field..... Not necessarily on purpose.
The wind kind of got it and so he was like, ah, no big deal.
So it's a black field now.
Elsie had Carley over and then had a good time.
It was crazy good weather today!!!!
I would be okay if it stayed like this!
I went to the store to get some fun good for the Superbowl 😏
Then tonight, dad and I finally got to go out with drew and Heather again.
It always seems like forever between the times we get to go out with them!
It was a really nice night.

Friday February 5

Worked on looking at curriculum and figuring out what I need to do about the old school district.
We have a zoom meeting in Monday with our mentor and she will help with my questions.
But our ELA curriculum came in the mail today.
So we can get started with that on Monday.
I'm ready to get going.
But READY ready....but I'm ready to get this going.
I have as lot to learn.
I need to work on patience!!!
I need to get my brain to calm down and organize all the info!!!
Elsie did her art club art today.
The prompt cave from Alex and it was fairy-tale.
Wyatt cause a picture of a fairy house and I have her instructions while she drew.
She does so well.
And it was a good opportunity to work on drawing lightly.... She usually pushes very hard when writing!!!
This evening we went on a date with the Tibbets.
We were supposed to go last week, but there had to reschedule.
He leave to iraq for his job in a couple weeks.
It was nice to spend some time with them.

Thursday February 4

Today was filled with baby chicks ðŸĢ
I was like a mother of a newborn last night and checked on them several times.
The first one popped out at about 1:45 am.
Then I kept worrying about the others.....
Port was up early to watch them.
The second one had popped itself out super quick.
The last one to break free was actually the one who cracked it's shell first.
So it was pretty dried out and the membrane was stuck to it.
Cassi gently helped clean it with a warm wet towel to moisten up the membrane.
All day I've been checking the temp in the room.
We turned on the space heater and keep the door shut... So the whole room is like an incubator at 95 degrees 😂😂😂
I don't dare heat with a heat lamp.... I'll let dad do that when he comes home tomorrow.

Wednesday February 3

The day started with a beautiful sunrise on my way home from the gym.
Then I took a nap ðŸĪŠ
Porter woke me up excitedly because there was a crack in an egg that is in the incubator!!!
So exciting!
So we have been watching them all day.
We are ending the night with 3 eggs hatching slowly.
Cassi set up her phone to time lapse it overnight.
So that will be fun!
I took Elsie to pick out her new glasses, finally!!!
She picked out a really cute striped pair with sparkles on the inside 😁
Then Porter Elsie and I went to the thrift store.
Porter found himself some comic books.
We found some good reading books.... Elsie spent the whole drive home reading the book she picked out.
I LOVE that she is choosing to read ON HER OWN!!!!!
That would not have happened without Emmy taking the time to read to her!!!
The sky was so pretty all day.
Cassi had Josh over for dinner, I made spaghetti.
But a good spaghetti with good homemade sauce and I also made swiss chard to go with it 😊
The kids went to YW/YM.
And I chilled in the quiet house watching Studio McGee 😂

Monday February 1

We made a pretty good schedule today.

Still so many things to work through and figure out.

But I'm still excited for this homeschool thing.

Dad made a desk in Cassi's recording studio (closet).

I went grocery shopping and also donated blood 👍ðŸŧ

Not much else happened today  😁
