Tuesday April 21

Port is struggling a bit.
He's so worried about not being able to breathe again, it's causing him anxiety, which causes him not to breathe good ☹️
He slept in the couch last night and tonight.
I don't know why it makes him feel better, but it does.
He helped me out a lot today with planting more starts and moving some starts to bigger pots.
It's gonna be a good garden 😊
But I do need some zucchini and spaghetti squash!!!!
Haven't gotten those yet.
I went for a run.
I want feeling so good, so it was hard.
Then I totally there up are I ate dinner.
Something just wasn't sitting right.
Dad and I had our ARP meeting tonight.
He is at with at the station, so it was fun to see him on the screen
But I prefer when he's with me ❤️
I'm gonna get some sleep and hopefully I feel better tomorrow....

Monday April 20

It's been a busy day!
Madi and I went for a run together.
Then she and cassi helped me get the garden cleared out.
Elsie heeled out too.
I forgot to take an address picture, but we have the whole thing weeded and cleared!
Now we can till it and put new plastic down.
Porter was by Dad's side the whole day and they got a lot done too.
And Elsie Rose finally got her bangs cut 😂
She's been so happy!
She's just bummed because she still hasn't shown her friend Carley.
She hasn't answered her one ☹️
We ended the night with a little FHE camp fire.
A good day ❤️

Sunday April 19

It was another wonderful Sunday with home church ;)
We decided that our home church sacrament meeting will be listening to a conference talk and then a testimony from someone in the family.
Along with singing :)
After the sacrament portion, we did Come Follow Me together.
We had good discussion and I really wish we sat down everyday and did it together!!!!!
We had a few hours of quiet time.
Madi, Logan and Porter went for a walk.
Cassi took Mater for a walk.
Then before dinner, we went to the park to play kickball at the baseball field.
It was a lot of fun.
But Port started having a hard time breathing.
His chest was tight.
He said he was fine and wanted to keep playing.
Then a few minutes later after more running and a run in with Madi at a base, he got worse.
I don't know if his breathing got worse, or he started to panic about his chest and it made his breathing harder....I don't know.
But he could not pass air!!!
I think we were all freaked out.
So thankful Dad was there, he scooped up Porter and talked to him calmly and went and sat on the bench with him and kept talking him down calmly.
Poor boy was so spooked!
His heart rate was though the roof!
He did not want to leave Dads side the rest of the night.....including right now where he is parked next to Dads bedside :(
We need to get him looked at.
I don't know if he has some kind of asthma...or something else.
He deals with a lot of anxiety issues too, so I am sure that is a part of it too.
The anxiety of not breathing turning into a panic attack and making it even worse.
Again I am so thankful Dad was there.
I am sure I could have calmed him down (even though I was freaking out a bit!), but that safety that comes with having Dad there with you.....I can relate!
I am just so thankful!
We rode bikes for a little bit and enjoyed the air before we came home to make dinner.
Port stayed with mom and Dad while we made dinner and the others stayed outside and played basketball.
I hope that he can feel safe enough for Dad to be able to go to work on Tuesday....
After dinner and clean up, Madi and I helped Cassi finish up her student council election poster that will be happening online this week.
We think it turned out pretty fun :)

Saturday April 18

We got a lot of yard work done today.
Well, mostly dad and Porter.
They got to it and worked all day!
They did lots of odds and ends jobs that we have been putting off
Got the shop cleared out and the garage.
Dad harrowed the field.
Port loved working with his dad all day!
I went for a long run.
My app stopped half way when I stopped at the park to use the bathroom.
Which by the way, is all locked up!!!!
And the water fountains are turned off too!
So I called Cassi and had her bring me some water so I could finish my run.
Overall I did just over 13.1, a half marathon.
When I got home, Cass and I weeded the strawberries.
Elsie (after some persuasion) helped pick up the weeds and put them in the mule.
She and Porter also went on a bike ride while Cassi went and picked up pizza for us.
We all are together.
Then I HAD to get in the hot tub.
Dad just refilled the water yesterday, so it was perfect!
Felt so good!
Madi, Logan and Porter joined dad and I while Cassi and Elsie showered and got ready for bed.
It was a long day and we got a lot done.
Ready for a day of rest tomorrow and church at home ❤️

Friday April 17

Porter had a team call with his class today.
It was fun to see a handful of his classmates.
They hope to do that every Friday.
It was another nice day.
Got some weeding done, dad and Porter got some burning done outside.
Elsie was grumpy most of the day.... But she did get out in her bike with Cass, so that's awesome.
Best of all, dad and I had a date night!!!
We grabbed some Costa vida curbside, rented a movie and then secretly sneaked into our camper trailer 😁
It was possibly one of my favorite date nights we've had!!!!

Thursday April 16

So home schooling isn't so fun.
It's not terrible... But we are just having a hard time all agreeing on how much time they should be spending on school.
We tried a block schedule this week... Didn't seem to work.
Maybe next week we will try an hourly schedule.....
Anyway.
It was nice outside today.
My run was disturbed by road work which added a few extra miles....I ended up going 7.5 miles.
Not bad when I only planned on doing 4.👍🏻
Porter and Cassi are learning ukelele together... When they aren't yelling at eachother.
These two are struggling the most..... They miss their friends and it comes out in anger.
Anyway, I spent the day finishing up painting.
I still need to paint the trim, but it's pretty much done!
Yay!
Dad comes home tomorrow... Bigger yay!

Wednesday April 15

I painted the ceiling and walls in the laundry.
I still need to touch up the corners and edges, but it's looking awesome.
I need to get another coat on the cabinets and get the doors back on.
Then I think we are done down there!
Yay!!!!
Schooling didn't go so awesome today for Elsie.
But I think we ended up getting the work done, just later in the day.
For YW we met up again online, and we dresses up this time and then played some pictionary.
I think we all had a fun time.
I missed having dad around today.
I just like it better when he's home....

Tuesday April 14

You know...the ability we have to do what we can with technology is just amazing!
Especially right now, in the world we are living in!!!
Elsie got to do physical therapy today with Katie.
She did awesome and worked hard!
She even stood on the scooter!!!
That is her new thing to tackle...and she been kind of a stinker about it.
But today, she just did it!!!
Well, stood holding it with putting on foot on...but that's more than she's been doing!
So cool!
I got a good run this morning.
And school was a little rough.
They really don't want to do it..... But we are working on it.
Dad got most everything finished up in the basement so I can get painting it all tomorrow.
So exciting!!!
This evening, again because of the amazing technology we have, we were able to have our ARP meeting again.
We talked about Step 10, daily accountability.
I think right now is such an important time to assess what we are choosing to do with our time and also be willing to admit when we are wrong out say sorry when we are mean.
There are so many 'triggers' that happen when you are cooped up in quaretine.
One line I love from the book is "as you plan your day, carefully examine your motives".
Are we looking enough outside ourselves?
We all can so easily slip into depression or addiction or anxiety when we fixate on the things that are not going right.
So we need to plan our day from the beginning in a way that will help us be successful!
That way we are less likely to fall into the bad habits that we have that we think help me feel better....but really just drag is down.
Anyway.
I love being able to talk to our ARP family.
At the end we had a heartbreaking reality hit.
One of our facilitators got a call that his best friend had just died of an overdose.
Talking to Dad, he spoke to how the people in our meeting today, several who are struggling, needed to hear the real consequences of what can and will happen if they don't with the steps.
It is absolutely heartbreaking.
This friend had been clean for three years, then he had his mom pass away a month ago and he went right back.
That's another reason this daily accountability is so important!!!
It is one of the 'maintenance steps', one that you continue doing once you are clean.
You get to choose as the start of each day that you will not let your addiction (or anything you don't want in your life) win.
That you choose to LIVE your life.
And sometimes, when we get out of habit of choosing that, it's easy to go back.
Fall back in the hole.
And when you go back, it can be devistating.
Anyway...or hearts break for our friend.
But it also just fuels the fire to get this program to everyone so things like this can be prevented ❤️
