Well, Port had a rough night.
His ears were hurting him, making it hard for him to sleep......making it hard for Dad and I to sleep!
I woke up when Dad did, he had to leave for work.
I planned to just see how he was when he woke up.
See, I was supposed to teach a lesson today in YW.
AND Porter had a talk to give.
But he kept on sleeping and sleeping….
The girls got up and ready and finally he woke up.
I had already decided at that point that he and I would be missing church.
And I was right, he woke up with a bright red ear :(
I had already set up to have the girls give the lesson outline to my advisor.
I did the lesson in a different way than I usually do, making it totally ready to just hand off to someone to teach it.
II had fully planned to teach it, so I just find it funny that I did it that way.
I had all the things to hand to groups all paper clipped together, all the scriptures printed out making it easy to hand out.
I usually have the stuff in my own outline, but I was just really prepared for the lesson today.
Turns out, that is exactly what I needed to do in order to make it possible for me to stay home with Porter :)
Anyway, the girls all left for church.
I spaced getting a picture before church and after church!
Dang!!!!
Oh well!
Cassi and Elsie went to choir.
Then I had a Beehive leader meeting at 12:30 and then the Beehive youth pres. meeting at 1.
Then we did Come Follow Me for about an hour before Madi had to leave to her Temple/mission prep meeting.
Elsie has been doing so good being willing to read more and more as we go along.
It makes me happy.
This program is doing so much for our family!
While Madi was gone, the three younger kiddos went in the art room and they all got creative.
It makes me so happy!!!!
Like really, REALLY happy :)
When she got home, we gave Gramps a call.
It was nice talking to him.
I don't always get to talk to him, because Dad is usually home to talk.
So after the kids talked, I chatted with him.
We had some nice conversation about the Youth and kids these days.
He is called as a primary teacher to the 8-10 year olds.
I asked him about the Come Follow Me program and he says they are good at participating and then we talked about how many changes have happened.
And also just how different things are from the time he grew up in....even when I grew up.
How important it is now for youth to have their own testimonies.
When Gramps was a youth he did not have anything close to the type of temptations that our kids have now a days.
Of course there was always stuff to try and pull you off the path....but not the kind of things that are so spiritually damaging like we have now a days!
Anyway, we are both noticing the amazing spirits that have been sent down for this time.
They are full of strength and Faith and they will teach us so much!
Thanks Gramps for the great talk :)
We had some chicken noodle soup for dinner and then the kids took Mater to Mary Mac to let him run around.
It was such a nice day outside, so he was a happy puppy!!!!
When they got home, we finished up the study section of Come Follow Me.
I do hate doing it when Dad is at work, but life is so crazy, there is just NO OTHER TIME!!!!
I am hoping Porter has a good night.
I don't want to keep him home again tomorrow, but if he is still hurting, I hate to send him!
The thing is, I don't think it is infected, I think it is just pressure, so I hate to take him to the doc if they just tell m to do what I am already doing....
If he had a fever it would be different.
I guess we will make that decision tomorrow.
