Sunday May 6

Dad had an early morning meeting at 7.
Then I left as soon as he got home for a meeting I had to go to ( in place of Stacia who was driving back from Utah).
Cassi went to choir practice at 11, that's about when I got home.
Then we headed for church a little after she got home.
Kind of a crazy morning for a Sunday!!!!
It was a lovely day at church.
We got a new Beehive today, her birthday being today :)
We have a tradition that the beehive class goes and picks them up from primary.
When they leave, their parents say something about them and a Christlike quality they have.
Then they walk on a red carpet out of primary under an arm arch the beehives make as the primary sings that persons favorite song.
Well, Claire's (our new beehive) favorite song was Peace in Christ.
I thought, 'There is no way these little primary kids know this!!!!"
Oh my goodness, my heart about burst when they started singing it!
Those sweet voices.....it put me in tears.
It was beautiful, the spirit was so strong.
It was almost enough to make my heart burst!
Then we brought her back to YW.
I taught the lesson today with the whole group.
I always think I have a good outline and I hope that the spirit will guide me, but then they stare at me with these blank faces sometimes and I really hope they are getting something!
No, they did good.
I just think they are still not quite sure enough to speak up.....I am the same way.
Not sure if my comment goes with what was asked...etc.
But I do think it was a good lesson today.
I actually think it went beautifully.
I wanted to talk about them knowing they are daughter's of Heavenly Father.
Why does it matter to know?
How can they know it?
How can knowing it change what we do?
How can it change how we treat others?
And how can we REMEMBER that we are Daughter's of God?
At the end I had this written on the board, it is the beginning of our YW theme, with a little twist.
"I am a Daughter of MY Heavenly Father who loves ME and I love him".
I asked each girls in the room to say it out loud.
My original thought was to just have a few say it, but then I just kept asking and the spirit was so strong.
I pray the girls felt that.
I bore my testimony about how important it is to KNOW we are children of our Heavenly Father!
If we know that, we know he has a plan for us, individually.
We know we can handle what comes our way, because it is part of that plan.
We know he wants what is best for us and he wants us to be happy.
We have so much worth, not because of what we have done, or what our talents are... but because we come from a loving Heavenly Father!
After church we hung out to have our Miamaid and Beehives presidencies set apart.
Cassi had a great blessing being set apart as the First counselor in the Miamaid pres.
Bro Lyons, who doesn't know Cassi personally very well, said in her blessing that she has a unique talent for making others feel special.
It was neat for him to bring up that, because it is very true.
Talking to her tonight I reminded her that making others feel loved the way she does is a big deal!!!
That it can change lives!
It is a big responsibility!
I am thankful for that talent that she has and I hope she always cherishes it!
We invited Bubble and Eldon and Vern over for dinner and had some yummy hamburgers :)
We sure love having such great people to live by!!!!!
Then Elsie and I spent some time reading on the front porch :)
Oh, and Cassi, Porter and Dad went fox hunting again.
No luck.
He got 9 of Vern's chickens during the day today!!!!!!
Thankfully Mater has been a good protector of our chickens!
