Sunday May 8

Happy Mothers day!
What a beautiful day it was.
And there was *almost* no fighting (comparatively)!
Pretty darn great if you ask me :)
So dad came home this morning with some bagels for breakfast and he made me some eggs and zucchini to go with it.
Then we got ready for church will not too much trouble.
I left early with Madi and Port and Elsie, because I wanted a bench seat, and they were still looking for Port's shoes :)
There were beautiful musical numbers by the primary and the YW.
So I scored with having all my kiddos sing to me!
After church we took some fun pictures......without any whining.
So sweet of them to indulge me :)
Then we went outside had had a little family game of baseball.
I think this will be a fun season for the whole fam!
While at church, Dad had a *not* chicken pot pie in the crock pot.
That is basically the innards of the pot pie, just no crust.
Then you eat it with biscuits.
A fam favorite in our house.
Cass and Madi made the biscuits and that turned out to be fun :)
After we ate and cleaned up we all sat down and watched a couple episodes of 'Random Acts'.
Love love that show!
Its on the BYU channel and you should look it up!
Then a few naps were taken, and time playing outside.......
Then we listened to our conference talk.
This week's talk was 'The healing ointment of Forgiveness' by Elder Kevin R. Duncan.
A beautiful talk.
He talked about having a sliver in his hand that the skin had grown over.
It hurt and was irritating......
Then he put a band-aid with some ointment on it, and slowly the skin softened enough for the sliver to work it's way out.
Just like us with holding a grudge.
We will all be offended in this life.
But Elder Duncan, you don't need to be a victim twice.
It does you harm to stay mad and not forgive.
Don't worry about 'what they deserve'.......because whoever has wronged you will get their justice from God.
But you, you should forgive all men.
And we will inevitably one day be the cause of someone else's troubles......wouldn't we want their forgiveness also?
Anyway.....it was a good talk :)
Also, I got some fun gifts today....
I got a beautiful turquoise colander that I think I won't use and just display :)
A new water bottle, a paper mache seed thing that Port made me.
I get to plant it and watch the flowers grow.
I got an amazing cake stand, that ended up being broken when we opened it :(
I hope they have a new one at the store to replace it!
And last but not least....Elsie came home the other day with a Mothers day card they had made at school.
She had made it for Grandma Na.
I thought it was just so sweet of little Elsie bug :)
So we texted it to her this morning, and will get it in the mail tomorrow.
It was such a nice day and I am glad I got to be surrounded by my family.

My new dress from LuLaroe :)
Made me feel special.
