Sunday April 10

Dad and Elsie stayed home today.
Dad still didn't feel great, and Elsie said she had a tummy ache.
It was a great testimony meeting today at church.
I was grateful for the testimonies shared.
I really do love church :)
After church, I took a picture of the kids.
It may be the last.
They are always so grumpy about me taking it :(
So maybe it's not worth it.
But it was fast Sunday......so maybe I should give them a little leeway....
I love having that weekly picture though.
I had a stew cooking while we were at church.
Cassi wanted to help, so I found her an easy fast bread recipe, and let her go at it.
She did awesome.
We are now calling it Cassi's Bread :)
The kids were dying of hunger, but the weather was nice outside, so they spent some time out there.
Madi spent time doing her homework.....which she SHOULD have already done!
But one of her assignments was to write a poem, and she wrote hers about Elsie Bug.
And i just love it!

elsie's escape

my favorite time in all the day
is when i'm home and get to play

not with siblings or my friends
but with stuffed toys to play pretend

it's hard to jump, or run, or skip
but imagination makes up for it

i'll be a nurse to your pet rhino
I ride far on my favorite buffalo

i'm a great mom to my baby doll
being the fire chief is the best thing of all

i'm so happy all the time
luckily that's not a crime

cerebral palsy's got nothing on me
cause in my mind i'm nothing but free

Isn't that just the sweetest?
Finally we had dinner, and the bread was the big hit!!!!
After dinner, we did some clean up and some more hanging out outdoors.
Then I had them all come in.
I have been wanting to start a new thing.
When Stacia talked in church and said that every Sunday, her family will watch just one conference talk.
They will watch it and take notes and have time to discuss.
That just sounded so awesome to me.
And with the newest General Conference under our belts.......I was excited to get started!
I got them each cute little binders filled with paper.
The little kids weren't sure what to do.
I told them to just write down words that they hear.
Melt my heart....their notes are the cutest things!
I think this will be a beautiful thing for our family :)
