Man there was a huge wind storm again last night!
We have been having a lot of these lately.
This morning, Elsie was up early, so I turned the TV on for her in hopes that I could get a bit more sleep.
But there was a very large tree branch that had blown on the roof and on the satellite dish....so we couldn't watch anything.
Luckily, Dad hadn't left for work yet, and he saved the day by climbing out there to clean it off.
We had two more very large branches, along with lots of little ones, that fell across our driveway.
The wind was blowing to the west, so luckily the branches from the trees along our field fence mostly blew into our yard.
Our neighbor always gets mad at us when branches blow into his place.
We told him that we should just cut the trees down because they are such a pain.....but then he says 'Oh no, no, no, when i get cows they are gonna need some shade!!!"
Anyway....so we like to clean up as soon as we can when there is a storm.
We did have a couple small ones blow in his way, and one very large big one that landed with some heavy force onto the fence post and impaled itself on it.
Well, that is more than my capabilities can do!
So I cut as many branches as I could off that big branch, then my battery died and I couldn't cut anymore.
I don;t dare use the chainsaw.....so the rest will have to wait until Daddy gets home.
It is a very good thing it landed right on the post though....cause that would have definitely pulled the fence down if it fell on the wire.
It is so irritating.....when we get these big winds, it is always the green branches that blow off......not the thousands of dead ones I would just LOVE to break off and make things look a bit tidier!
Oh well!
So today I did a lot of running around.
First I took Elsie to go get her new, unscratched, lenses in her glasses.
I brought her home but stopped by Youth Ranch so she could get the free book.
I am looking for a desk for her, but just can't find the right one.....for the amount I am willing to pay ;)
Then I got home, dropped Elsie off, grabbed Porter and we went and finished up his school shopping.
Got his school supplies, backpack, lunchbox.
He got a couple more t-shirts that were on clearance and a pair of pants.
We also made a stop by Youth Ranch on the way home so he could get a book as well :)
I bought a couple other book along with it....I'm not always a freeloader!
Came home and got some laundry sorted and loads started up again.....
Then I took Madi with me when I took Elsie to PT.
I dropped her off at the store to get some school clothes shopping done while Elsie and I were at PT.
Elsie did so awesome!
She worked very hard today :)
There were a lot of giggles....but I would rather have giggles then the stubborn crying!
I am nervous and excited for her to start school.
I wanted to do so much more with her this summer to help get her ready.
I know it will be a good year, but I want it to be a really great year for her!
I hope to overcome some of these fits that she has.....
We were doing so good towards the end of the year, hopefully we can continue along that road!
I am nervous and excited about who she will get for a teacher......
The teacher will make a big difference, if it is someone who wants to be a part of her and her education, or someone who pawns her off on the aides (whom I absolutely LOVE, but need the teacher support too!!!!)
Anyway, then we picked up Madi and stopped by Target to get more stuff and school supplies, then came home with dinner.
Tomorrow I plan to try and start taping off the open areas and start sanding the edges.
We are going to TRY and get the floors done on this 4 day break.
It is the ward camp-out the 14-15, so if we can get the stain on and let it cure for those days while we are gone...it would be perfect!
We did have someone come out to give us a quote......and it was WAY too high.
It would have been so nice.....but not worth it!
So we will do it :)
It is more satisfying that way anyway!
So I hope to get as much prep stuff done tomorrow so we can get started Wednesday morning when he gets home!
