Friday January 9

So everything went pretty smoothly with the early morning dr. appointment.
Well, not smoothly at first.
Starting at 6:15 I had Port following me around like a puppy dog asking why we had to go, why he couldn't come.
Then when it came time to leave I had to literally throw him at Madi and shut the door and run to the car and drive off.
She said he cried for a while, then calmed down okay.
Appointment went good.
Again, it is just nice to have a plan.
Nice to have stuff to work on.
When we got home, I found out Cassi missed the bus, so she walked to school!
Stinker.
I wish she would have told me before she did that!
But she got there safe.
I got Port and Elsie ready to go to school.
Everything was hunky dory with Port.
He even told me that he loves school.
I took Elsie to class, and then over to Port's class.
The minute we stepped in, his friends came up to hug him and we walked towards the hooks for coats and backpacks, and he clinged tighter and tighter to me.
Mrs. Grayson got him and told him it's all okay, and it will be a good day, and off I went.
I ran into Mrs. Dinka in the gym, and talked to her, then out runs Port from the classroom.
Little stinker.
I had to chase him and grabbed him.
Took him back to the door of his class to talk to him.
I guess he must have calmed down so Mrs. Grayson let him go about the days business, and no one saw him slip out......
Yikes!
So I took him back in, and she held on to him again, and we did it again.
It worked this time.
He stayed.
Oh Porter!!!!!
So Madi stayed home, she wasn't feeling great, and she needed a day off.
We got stuff done around the house.
Aaron was here again today with Scott Ewing.
They got lots done.
Also those other electricians came by for a few hours today.
Got lots connected and ran.
Port had a job to run some wires between the floor boards.
He thought it was pretty cool....a little nervous about it, but still thought it was cool that it was his special job.
Again, he followed me around like a little puppy all day.
I just don't know how to make him feel more safe or more secure.
Either I have done a really bad job with my kids, or too good of a job cause they don't want to leave me :)
Once everyone got home, we had pizza and cookies and we had a movie night all together.

Port looks like he is crying in this picture... like he is in time out... poor kid. I hope his anxiety gets better soon.

Yes, you are a great mother!! Your kids just don't want to be away from you! I'm sorry you are going through this same thing with Port - sweet boy!
