Saturday November 22

Today was a day of cleaning :)

First we went and cleaned the church.

It was the YW/YM turn to clean, and we just decided to take the fam with us.

There was a really good turn-out, so it didn't take too long to get the job done.

When we got home, we got to work on our house.

Really just rooms today.

Deep cleaned the bedrooms.

It was nice to take some toys back out to the garage that keep finding their way into our tiny little living space...!

I did lots of laundry.

We went through clothes and under beds.

Feels good.

Still lots more that can be done, but they worked hard for a good solid 4-5 hours.

So that's good.

Cassi went to Carli's house for a few hours.

Dad and I went around to some stores looking for some fixtures.

Man, it is hard for me to pick lights out!!!!!

And it's hard to have to pick them out before the kitchen is done.....

And I can find lights that I love for above the table and lights to go above the island, but nothing that really goes together......you know what I mean!

It is frustrating!

I think I may end up just buying some cheap lights, get that all done, and then when I find just the right lights, we can switch them out :)

When we came home, Madi left to go to a movie with her friend, who is also names Karly.

While the big girls were gone, dad and I (mostly dad) took out the bathtub from the main floor bathroom.

We wanted to use it up in the upstairs.

And I want that bathroom on the main floor to just be a 'powder' room.

(.....with a laundry chute where the shower was!!!!!)

Anyway.....silly us.

We forgot to really even think about what side the faucet and stuff were on, and the plumber guy has already fed the lines and drain to the other side!!!!

I don't know if we can change that.

But that was kind of dumb on our part.

BUT....I did want the tub out anyway, so maybe we will save that tub for when we fix up this bathroom downstairs.....which is waaaaayyyy down the road from now :)

Cassi was home at 6, and Madi around 7.

We watched a show and then got the little ones showered and off to bed.

The big girls did dishes and they got to bed at a good time too :)

It rained a lot last night and the sun was out today, melting most of the snow around.

The melted snow has done much for our souls today.

This early snow kind of put us in a mini 'house depression' :(

Several months of cold and snow did not sound very good to us.

But when the sun is out and snow melting and it is not freezing cold temps in the house to work in, things are good.

It may not take forever.....it will take a long time, just not forever :)

I told Brent today that the turtle was the one who won the race.

If we rush through things just to get them done cause we are sick of dealing with them, we will miss something and have to go back and do it again....

Slow and steady wins the race!

And we will win!!!!!
