So the kids did a good job getting their rooms cleaned up this morning while I went to Parent teacher conferences.
The conferences went good.
I got to talk to Elsie's teacher and the ERR teacher about the situation with Elsie.
They listened to my concerns.
And they are going to start doing less time in the ERR room.
We will stop doing PT in school, but stick with the speech for a little while.
They will also stop taking her out for circle time, which I kinda feel bad about, because Elsie enjoys it.
But it is also something that she doesn't NEED to be doing.
They sit in a circle, and talk about the date, weather and their feelings.
I would rather her be in the classroom, doing the work that her classmates are doing.
I feel like it was a good meeting.
I think we can make progress.
And I do think there is stuff we can work on better here at home too.
She needs to work more on her reading.....she reads okay, but definitely not as well as she should be.
They also showed me her MAP testing scores....where she scored between 1%-4%.....
Mrs. Janzen said that, looking at how much time she took to take the full test, she spent less then 30 seconds on each question.
So that shows us that she was just marking answers without reading through them.
Little stinker.
So there are things to work on.
But I am happy that they know what we expect and what our goal is for Elsie Bug!

After I got done with all the conferences, I drove the kiddos over to Jenni's house to play with her kids.
They were all so excited!
It's been a while since they got to hang out :)
Madi and I left them there, and then we ran some errands.
It was a fun time with just she and I.
She's a good kid.
But then of course they all fought for pretty much the rest of the night after I picked the kiddos up.
Dang kids!!!!

Oh Kim! I'm so glad the conferences went well - especially Elsie's! I think those changes will be great for her!
