We didn't get started on the house stuff until later this afternoon.
We all woke up early to meet at the church for a ward service project.
There were about 5 older couples in our ward in need of yard/field/garden work.
So they divvied up the people to the different houses.
We went to the Wickards house.
Because we had a chain saw :)
There we picked weeds, cut trees down, trimmed trees, mowed, trimmed, picked up millions of fallen apples, moved gated pipe, tilled garden under....etc.
Lots to get done.
I debated on taking the little kids or not.
But I wanted them to have a chance to serve too.
They did great.
Of course little ones (Port and Elsie) can only last so long, so after 2 1/2 hours, we headed home.
But they would pick up piles of weeds people picked and throw them on the burn pile.
Picked up branches.
Stacked fire wood.
They were really awesome.
At one point, there were some weeds at the top of some stairs, and Porter would throw them down to the bottom and Elsie would pick them up and take it to the burn pile.
Made me proud.
They all worked really hard.
Then we got home and got our sprinklers up and running on our sad lawn.
(Where Brent made sure to point our the heart made by our irrigation hoses :)
THEN we started work on the siding.
It is looking good.
The Youngs stopped by.
That was fun to have them here to play.
The girls miss them.
They always miss them.
It would be so cool to see them every day :)
Drew helped out with the siding too, so that was great!
It is looking good.
The edge of the new house and the edge of the old house do not line up....
Not sure why the guys built the walls where they did.
But they did.....
So we have a little jog in the siding.
It's not too bad.
I think it will look just great once we get it all tied in together.
This evening, Cannon had a birthday party.
We all went over for dinner and a party.
I actually didn't go until later, because I was taking family pictures for some people.
But it sounds like it was a lot of fun.
Stacia said that Cannon has been talking about having a hot dog fight on the trampoline for a long time.
He had it all planned out.
Well, I guess she let him do it.
I wasn't there for it....but I guess it was epic :)
Madi got it on video, so I need to check that out.
So it's a late night tonight.
But they are all sleeping now.
Hope they sleep in............
