Thursday May 16

We have been practicing for this night for a long time!
It was Elsie's kindergarten music program.
Each kid had a little part, and Elsie had the last line "Have a good night!"
She has been enthusiastically practicing her line every day for a couple weeks.
She has been excited for it.
BUT.....I had my doubts it would happen.
She didn't go up with the primary on Sunday to sing for Mothers Day....
She didn't sing with her class or read her paper during the Mother tea on Monday...
But she said she would say her line, so we kept positive about it.
I told her she might feel kind of nervous because there would be a lot of people....but not to worry cause it is only the Moms and Dads of her friends.
Cassi told her to picture them in their underwear :)
The program started at 7:00.
I thought this would be a bad time too....Thursdays she has PT in school and she sees Katie at the clinic too.
And she is usually in bed at 7:30.....so I thought it would be a disastrous night.
Well, I was so wrong!
Thankfully!
We showed up at 6:30 in hopes of getting a great spot.
We did get a pretty good one, kind of to the side of Elsie, but right by her.
So it was perfect.
The kiddos walked in and started the program.
Elsie didn't sing any of the songs.
She has been singing for the last two weeks over and over all the songs....but as soon as I heard the class singing, I knew why she wasn't singing.
They had a pretty quick tempo and she couldn't keep up, so she didn't sing.
But she smiled beautifully the whole time!
And she did do the actions on the last song....
But I didn't get the last song recorded :(
During the third to last song, my video was dangerously low on batteries and I wanted to make sure to have video for when it came time for her to say her line...
So I recorded the second to last song on my phone, then ran out of room on my SD card....
That meant the last sing didn't get recorded...the one she did all the actions for....
Oh well.
I am sure there is a mom somewhere that will have her on their video camera.
But I took pictures of Elsie when the microphone came to her, and Madi had the video.
And SHE DID IT!!!!!
I was so excited!
The families around probably thought I was a nut, but I was so proud that she did it.
To me, this is a huge stepping stone for her.
And I know it was mostly because Miss Jodie was right there with her...holding her hand.
I love that lady.
She is amazing, and she works so well with Elsie.
She is sweet and kind and patient.
I can't even say enough good things about her.
She has wiggled herself deep down inside our hearts and she won't ever get out :)
So I am thankful for her.
The kids were on steps, and Elsie kind of lost her balance after standing for so long, so I am very happy Miss Jodie was there to help her out.
