Friday February 8

The boys and I did some shopping early this morning.
And we had a little lunch date.
Love spending time with my boys.
Then later that night, I had a real date with my big boy.
We were invited to a Valentines Day party with some friends in the ward and a bunch of their friends.
Brent wasn't too sure about the whole thing....he's not a real party goer.....
But you know what, it turned out to be a lot of fun.
I made these cute little strawberry shaped pies to take with us.
I think they could have tasted better....but they were good.
Just maybe needed some more sweetness in them.
I made the pie crust, rolled it out and cut out hearts, then put cream cheese and sugar covered strawberries inside....put another heart on top....and baked it up.
Not too bad, but like I said, they could have been sweeter :)
After eating, we sat down and played the 'Not so newly wed game'.
A bunch of questions we had to answer separately, and then we had to try and guess what our partners would have said....
Guess who won???
WE DID!!!!
Yay!
We got some movie tickets for another date night :)
We only missed one questions.
The question was:
On your wedding day, was your husband/wife (a) calm, cool and collected ;  (b)  nervous, but willing to take the big step ; (c) ready to catch the first plane anywhere?
For Brent, I put C, of course....cause that's the truth.
And I was right, that's exactly what he picked.
But I said I was cool, calm and collected......except that I guess I was nervous if he was gonna go through with it :)
He wrote down B, but I answered A.....
But he is right.....I was nervous.....if he was gonna go through with it :)
Luckily for me, he did!
And now 13 years later, we win the (not so) newlywed game cause we knew each other the best.
It was a lot of fun.
I know it sounds dumb, but I was excited to step out in a new outfit.
I haven't bought anything for myself in a very long time.
I don't like shopping and I am totally comfortable in my comfy (thrift store) jeans, that I wear every day, and simple t-shirts and sweatshirts I wear.
But tonight I went all out.
It probably wasn't even a cool outfit, cause I know nothing about what looks good....but according to what I see on the mannequins in the store, I think I did okay.....
I was hoping it wasn't a 'take your shoes off' party, cause the outfit wasn't very cute without my cowboy boots :)
I wish I got a picture of the Fireman and I together at the party....guess we were having too much fun!
