We had our ward party this morning.

It was a fun time.

We found a 'family' to give to for this Christmas.....each kid picked someone off the giving tree that was around their age (it lists boy/girl, age, and what they would like).

And then we grabbed a few more to do as a family.

We are very excited and thinking we should go shopping for FHE on Monday and get it all.

Then we came home and the kiddos did a few chores and I had to go do some pictures, all while Dad worked with our neighbor on the fence.

The time came to bring the tree inside to decorate!

BUT....

The tree is a potted tree.....therefore, pretty dang heavy.

So Dad opted for really the only good option :)

And it worked perfectly!

 

 

It is a pretty ski-wampus sort of tree.

But we love it :)

It is a pretty fun tree and it will be fun when it is planted with us forever.

Okay, that was kinda cheesy.

But I am excited about this new tradition of buying ourselves a potted Christmas tree.

 

I know I have said it before.....

But I think everyone should have an 'Elsie' at Christmas time.

Everything is so magical to her.

She was so very excited the whole and she still won't leave the tree alone.

And the screams....oh my goodness.

Ear piercing, in a good way :)

 

There was a fight over who got to put the star up last year.

Both Elsie and Porter wanted to do it.

So we just did it twice :)

And everyone was happy.

 

We plan to make some Cinnamon Ornaments tomorrow......so I don't have a finished 'after' picture yet :)

I am also tempted to have the kids make a popcorn chain....tempted.

Then Dad decided there was enough daylight to put up the lights outside.

And Cass is always to first one to want to hop up there with Dad.

So they got that job done.
