Saturday September 8

So last week, we bribed Porter with a promise of a new Voltron toy.

I think this promise was just as exciting for my big boy as it was for my little boy :)

Well, today it arrived in the mail.

Dad was working today...a 72 hour shift.

He was supposed to come home this morning and they called and asked if he wanted to stay at his same station.

He was tired as a dog, but hard to refuse.

(The only bad thing was on Friday he had Tech day and dive day training, well today was tech day and dive day training for A shift....so Dad is well trained, and exhausted!!!)

I knew it would be fun for Dad to be there when Porter opened his Voltron.

So when Port woke up from his nap, we headed to the fire station to visit dad.

It was so much fun to watch the two boys with their....I mean, Ports, new toy :)

He is a happy boy.

I am sure he will keep going to primary now!

And hopefully the promise of something great, and then receiving that promise will be a good thing for Elsie to see.

I told her I have a present for her to open tomorrow if she goes to class.

Cassi and I found a cute little dress and a stuffed buffalo at a consignment store.....she will love it.

She said she will go....I sure hope so!

Anyway...back to Voltron.

There were just too many cute pictures not to include.

 

Elsie likes to give Port a little pat on the head when she is proud of him or excited for him./

I think it is so funny, like a little puppy :)

He isn't always fond of it....

After that we went to check out the fire trucks.....

And just then the guys got called out on a call.

We stuck around for a bit and they came back because the call got cancelled.

Elsie was holding me as tight as she ever has.

I think she was so worried about a siren or something crazy happening.

After they left, she was so proud that she didn't cry at all.

She was 'Buffalo Brave'!

Anyway....then more fun with dad.

He took the kids, except Elsie, for a ride.

We went down the pole and played with the heat vision thingy (don't know the name).

It was a fun time to spend with dad.

We miss him when he is gone....especially for this long.

Ever since I told Porter this morning that Dad had to work today, he has been whining and saying how much he misses dad and how he wants him to come home.

When he woke up from his nap he was the worst.

I hadn't heard form Dad yet about what would be a good time to visit, and Porter kept asking when we could go see dad, cause he missed him so much because he just likes him SOOOO much!

It was pretty cute.

I should have gotten the video camera out!

Dang-it, I need to be better about that!!!

Anyway, we will all be happy to have dad home tomorrow!!!
