Today was another day all about Madi.
Cross country again....and loving it again :)
I picked her up, took her straight home to shower and head back to school for registration.
She wanted to shower, cause you have your picture taken at registration.
Got to school and got all registered.
Then we came home and ate an then headed BACK to school for the 6th grade orientation.
I think this calmed her nerves (and mine).
They went over what to expect the first day of school and then we had a tour of the school.
We found her locker....practiced her combo...many times.
I think she has got it down.
We went through her schedule several times too.
She is excited for school to start, still nervous, but excited.
I am excited for her too.
I can't believe my Madi is going to be in middle school!!!!!

This is what I found when we got back from picking Madi up from cross country.
Long story short....
We had the 4 trees that we bought delivered and planted today.
We placed one close to the tire swing tree, cause we don't know how long that one will live for....so we wanted to get a head start with a replacement.....
But there was a very large dead branch that was in the way for the new tree to be planted.
So Brent grabbed the chainsaw and climbed to cut it down.
We got the tree planted.
But then, as I said, I came home and he was back up in the tree cutting all the other dead branches.....which were a lot.
And very big ones.
This picture is only the start of the pile.
The tree looks better....much better.
The kiddos helped picking up the branches they could carry.
We obviously have not been having them work very much lately.....
They were not much in the mood for hauling branches.
But they are good kids.
And we cleared a good chunk of the branches.
And, Brent did not ever fall.
I sure worried about him.....in that tree while I am gone.
I told Cassi to check on him periodically and to call 911 if she found Dad on the ground when she did check on him.
Luckily that did not need to happen.
And it was a good thing dad fixed Ports elbow this morning.
Don't know what we would have done without him help moving branches :)
