Monday August 20

I should have taken a picture of Madi this morning.
Today was Madi's first day of cross country practice.
She was worried about not knowing anyone, so she was excited when she saw a girl she knew when we got there.
They talked a little.
Madi is a shy one.
Then another girl she knew showed up.
She is also friendly with this girl.
So that is a good thing.
But these other two girls were really good friends.....so I worried about Madi being a third wheel.
I should learn by now that I shouldn't worry about Madi.
She isn't worried about that stuff.
Ya, she wants people to like her....but she isn't overly worried about fitting in.
I admire her for that.
I hope she stays that way.
I spent way too many hours trying to make people like me in middle school.
When I went to pick her up when practice was over.....she couldn't stop talking.
And it wasn't about friends.....it was about the running.
And the stretches.
"It was so fun Mom!"
I am so proud of her.
I wish I could be more like her.
I am so happy that she is enjoying this.
She is such a good kiddo.
*****
The rest of the day was busy.
One thing after another.....
After I picked up Madi, I ran Cassi to guitar.
Then we picked up the bunnies from the bunny sitters.
Then pick up Cassi....and head to the library.
Then lunch and getting Porter down for a nap.
Once Port was down I got Elsie and myself ready cause it was her Kindergarten open house today.
She was so excited all day.
But then she got really tired and really whiny just before we had to leave.
We need to catch up on some sleep!
Anyway...I got her happy, and off we went.

She met her teacher, Mrs. Grayson.
Cassi says she is the nicest ever.
Elsie is very excited.
We did all the paperwork we needed to.
Then we went to the classroom so she could check it out.
She was so happy to see the baby dolls and the play kitchen.
And the cute little tables just like in preschool.
I think she will do great....but I still worry.
How can I not worry!
While we were in there we ran into a mom that I have ran into at Katies (Elsie's PT) before.
She has a younger daughter who does PT with Katie too.
And her other daughter will be in Elsie's kindergarten class.
That made me happy for her to see a familiar face.
It also calmed a few fears that there will be a little friend in there that might have a better understanding when Elsie has a hard time with things.
That is a worry of mine.
While i was filling out papers, Elsie was running back and forth with a little girl in our ward.
Soon a bunch of other kids joined them, all in fun, but almost trampled her.
The cute little girl in our ward helped her out a bit....even trying to carry her at one point.....
But do you see what I mean.
I just worry about her.
Again with the worrying!
I am sure she is gonna do awesome.
She is so happy and has so much fun all the time and loves life.
Why would kindergarten be any different?

*****
Ports elbow got dislocated again.
Poor little guy.
Madi said she was holding his arm when he pulled back away from her and dropped his body weight back.
I have no idea how to fix it.....and I don't dare.
Brent is always the one who does it....so he will have to fix it when he gets home in the morning.
So we propped him up all pillows all day.

And let him cuddle the kitty.
He loves that cat and he is surprisingly gentle with her...until you try to take her away :)

At one point we tried a sling out.....
Poor kid.
Dad will come to the rescue tomorrow.
