Friday July 13

Today we worked a lot outside getting things ready to throw seed at the bottom of the deck and all along the front part behind the house.
But once we were all ready.....the wind was way too strong to seed.
Hopefully it can get done tomorrow!
Can't wait to see it all green :)
Well, while Dad was outside, he saw something come flying out of the tree.
Mater ran right to it, and grabbed it in his mouth.
Dad yelled for him to drop it....and out comes a little birdie.
Dad picked him up along with the piece of his nest that blew out with him...and stuck him into a plastic container.
The kids gathered around and Elsie immediately named him Barney.
Dad got the tractor up there to check in the nest, where he found another little bird hanging on for his life to the nest.
So he did the only thing he could...helped the little guy back in, and put Barney back in the nest.
Sure hope the mommy can still take care of them.....it was their best chance.
As soon as Dad got them in the nest Elsie says to me that she 'misses Barney'.
Such a tender little heart.
But we told her we could watch and see if we can see him in his little nest.
Anyway...good luck Barney!

There are earwigs EVERYWHERE!!!!
While we were cleaning under the deck....they ran out from everywhere.
Dad told Cassi that it looked like the Ant Smasher Game on his phone.
So they started stomping them and killing them just like the game :)

Here is a shot of how things are looking in the back.
I need to find a before picture to go along....cause it is looking WAY better :)
Can't wait for the grass to start growing....once we plant it....
And just for fun...here is a shot of what it looked like when we first moved in.....

Things have changed a bit :)
*****
Tonight the girls had a Daddy Daughter Date for Activity days.
Over the last few activities, they have been preparing for the dance.
The made the poodle skirts for one....made invitations for another activity...it was a pretty cute idea.
Anyway....the girls were very excited about tonight!

Aren't they adorable!!!!!
Oh, and handsome too :)

My dad sent me a link from Utah Syate about ear wig traps... I can't find the link but what she did was take a container, I used a slur cream container with a lif. She put holes just under the top of the lid and filled the container with vegetable oil and then dumped the juice from tuna fish into the oil. Then put the lid on ( to keep the puppies or raccoons out) then the earwigs would crawl into the holes and fall Into the oil. It's worked so far. I put it all around my garden because last year the ear wigs got Into my corn. I also put it by my doors to keep them out of my house. I change it once a week. I will keep looking for the video and send you the link....
