Saturday June 9

We had a fun today with the whole Peterson clan.
And what a clan we have.
This year's reunion was a short and sweet one, but it was fun all the same.
We spent the day today at Salem pond.
We started with family pictures, cause we all know that is what is most important ;)
Then we played in the water....ate some food.
Got sent home (the Miramontes' home) by the strong wind, and had a birthday celebration and cake for Morgie.
We are all exhausted.
Oh, and Port woke up this morning with a fever and has been miserable all day.
I hope that a good nights sleep with help him feel better.

Can't forget a picture of Elsie and Emmy.
They have been together pretty much non-stop.
*****
We brought the baby goats with us from the Homestead today.
We gave them a first bottle feeding tonight.
These are sure some cute little guys!

This is Thor.
No, Port did not name him.
Grandpa actually did.....but his name is one of the main reasons we chose him :)
He was a pro with the bottle right away.
He is so far pretty mellow but very strong.

This little guy is Hulk.
His original name was Demetrius.....but it is hard for Porter to say.
We were gonna call him Meaty, but dad thought it sounded like we were gonna eat him.
So we decided on Hulk.
He jumps high like Hulk does :)
This guy has not had it easy in life so far.
His mom wouldn't let him nurse.
So he wasn't doing very well and was very weak.
But he is a fighter and figured a way how.
Every time Thor would eat, Hulk would eat from his dripping and their Mom would allow that.
But if Hulk tried to nurse without Thor, she wouldn't let him.
Kinda sad.
Anyway....so poor little guy doesn't seem to know how to suck.
We figured out a way to get him some food.
If we held it on the side and he gnawed at it with his teeth, he could get some food.
I am sure we can eventually teach him to suck.
He is a tough little guy.
You know...feeding him with this bottle reminded me a lot of our little Elsie when we tried to feed her a bottle.
She just couldn't suck.
So you do what you can.
He is a good fit in our family :)
