I never want to look at popcorn again.
I don't know what my problem is.
Why can't I just buy the stupid $1 store Valentine's for the kids to give at school?
I don't know.
But I can't.
This year I found a cute little printable and I thought how easy it would be to make some white chocolate covered popcorn for the little classmates for all three girls.
Easy.
Well....5 hours of popping popcorn.....ya, easy I guess.
I thought I would just buy my own kernels...and use brown paper bags to cook them in the microwave.
Worked like a charm.....just took forever!
It would have worked out better to have a popcorn popper, oh well.
Well, so I popped three large bows full of popcorn at a time.
Then I melted the chocolate.....
Poured and stirred it over the popcorn.
Then put them into the little baggies.
Three large bowls made about 15-18 bags.
I made 75 bags.
It was a long process.
Now when I say I popped popcorn for 5 hours.....I really did pop popcorn for 5 hours.
They turned out cute.....they would have been cuter with a bow of some kind....but I was DONE messing with them.
So a staple it is.
Next year I may just have to buy those $1 store cards......
Elsie worked hard and wrote her name on every valentine......
This was one of the last ones....so her name is not as clear.
Her hand was getting pretty weak.
But she did a great job.
And she was very excited to do them herself.
*****
Dad kept busy putting together a temporary chicken coop.
We aren't ready to build the barn yet.....
So he constructed one from Maters old pen....and some wood he had on hand.
So, totally free.
Pretty cool.
