We have been really bad about getting Cassi to practice her guitar.
It was easy when she had lessons...cause she was learning something new each week and had to practice it by the next lesson.....
But now with no lessons to push us.....we kinda forget about it after homework and play and dinner gets done.
So I am determined to get her to get back into it again.
She is so good at it, and has a real knack for catching on....but she is still young, so she still needs daily practice :)
We need to see what we can do about finding someone to give her guitar lessons......cause I have no idea what I am doing!
She sat down and played some for me today while I was making dinner.
I love the sound of the guitar.
And I love it even more when it comes from one of my very own kiddos :)

I just wanted to say that I'm disappointed to read that Cassi isn't taking guitar lessons anymore.. She's still young, and she won't be able to progress much without the help of a qualified teacher, which is a shame because she seems so talented! Practicing is great, but it'll only get her so far without guidance. Until then, keep up the good work :)

I like the idea of having Cassi play something for you while you prepare dinner....that could become a daily tradition! How cool would that be!
You know, Tom did most of his guitar learning on his own, and he rocks. One thing he does to practice is to listen to songs he loves and picks out the guitar parts. It's not an instant process, but it could be a way of honing her skills while looking for a new teacher.
