Wednesday December 21

Remember our 12 days of Christmas quilt.....
Well, it has become a 4 days of Christmas quilt this year.
I got it finished today.
Yay!!!
Well, kinda.
It doesn't have a binding yet....but it is good enough for the kids to sleep with.
I am excited about having it done and a part of our Christmas traditions....and kinda don't want to put it away with the Christmas stuff when it all comes down.
I will.....
But maybe just not right away :)

(*A little secret...it wasn't finished yet when I took this picture....but I knew I was losing light and I wanted a picture of it......but I did end up finishing it after dinner and a bit after the kids went to bed.)

I did a larger stipple stitch over the whole thing.
I love the smaller look too, but that would have taken F.O.R.E.V.E.R!!!!!!
So this way got it done in good time and I still love the look of it.
I can't wait to wash it and see what it looks like when the fabric shrinks a little.
I love doing this stipple stitch thing....even thought it does take forever....and it does a number on your eyes, and some major cramping happens in your hands.
But......that is not enough to stop me from doing it more and more.
I am thinking maybe I will do it with Cassi's birthday quilt that is yet to be finished (and really, barely even started).
But I can tell ya one thing with complete (almost) confidence.....I promise to be done with it by her next birthday :)

I want to know more about this top stitching you're doing. Do you have a long-arm?

Beautiful - do you quilt it by hand?
