Saturday December 3

It has been a long day.

We started out with our Ward Christmas Party.

That was a lot of fun.

It was a Christmas breakfast and we all wore our jammies.

They played games, ate good and had a lot of fun.

When we got home we had a some people, one after another, come and buy the firewood we had listed on Craigslist.

Madi and Cassi were awesome little helpers as they loaded wood into the trucks and trailers for quite a while.

They do make me proud.

And they love working with dad, so that is a bonus :)

After they were done, I headed out for a photoshoot.

While I was gone, Port slept, Cassi watched Elsie while Dad and Madi did more work outside.

He needed to get some power to the pumphouse to make sure we can run the heaters around the pipes.

I got home and we got to work getting out the Christmas stuff.

The kids put the tree that dad got at the auction up on the playroom.

It looks pretty great in there.....and I like having another tree for the cute little homemade ornaments they have made me.

Plus.....there may be some kind of Christmas surprises going on in that room at Christmas...so a tree is appropriate :)

Then we started to put up the other tree.

But we didn't get very far.

Because we noticed that the winds stopped outside, and the clouds went away....

So Brent and I ran out for another 45 min or so and cut firewood until the sun went down..

It is a good way to make some money, and money is a good thing to have this time of year!

We came in.....had some dinner and got to work on the tree.

It still isn't done....but it is up and lit, and it makes everyone happy.

There was a bit of a fight over who's turn it was to put the star on the top of the tree.

So we fixed that by piling them all on Dad....

Madi held Elsie, Dad held Madi while holding Cassi on his back.

Worked pretty good.....

Until the boy came running in the room.

He was feeling a bit left out.

But we fixed that too :)

The light needed to be plugged in

So up he went.

Then everyone was happy :)

When we got all the frame pictures hung, and the star up, we shut off all the lights in the house and sat around the tree and took turns singing Christmas songs.

Madi and Cassi sang Silent Night for us.....with a Taylor Swift twist.

Elsie and daddy sang Jingle Bells.

Port had his own little rendition of 'Oh Christmas Tree'.

He sang "oh Christmas Tree' over and over.....and over again.

Pretty cute.

Then we started singing all together.......until Port Begged for us to sing another song he made up.

This one went " Baa, ba, baa, baa, ba, ba, baaa, baaa."

It was pretty fantastic :)

Then one family song of "Away In a Manger" and then off to bed.
