Every year, I make an ornament for each kid and a family one.
They are always frames with their picture from that year....and that years family picture.
This is one of my favorite traditions....and it is so much fun to pull them out each year and hang them up while the kids are asking....."Who's this?", and, "That's me!!!!"
They especially love the ones when Madi was a baby.....I went a little overboard with those pictures.....but they love it!
This year I bought some silver frames at the dollar store.
Nothing special.....
The more I looked at them, I knew I wanted to do something different to them.
So I pulled some scraps from the Christmas quilt I made this year (that is still unfinished....surprised? Ya, I'm not either).
I think they turned out fun.....not perfect....but fun.
The scrap piece I used for their frame matches what their stocking is made from.
I just love them.
And since we have a pretty pathetic looking tree, I took them outside to take some pictures.
I think we have come up with a new tradition to start next year.
We plan to buy many many trees for this place.
We thought it might be a fun thing to buy a Christmas tree in a pot, and plant it outside each year.
I think it will be such a fun tradition to have.
If we are gonna spend that money for trees anyway....why not have some memories with them?
