Sunday July 17

Why oh why do we spend so much money on dumb expensive toys for kids?
All you need are some socks and some scrap pieces of fabric.
Oh, and some boxes from the recycle bin.

The girls played all morning before church with these sock puppets.
Port was sleeping, but I am sure he would have enjoyed it for a bit.
He would have enjoyed it if they let him be a monster, or robot that could tear up the whole town :)
But they played nice.
And I love when they do that.
Besides the whining when I made them come in so I could do their hair, they did pretty good.

They used boxes from the recycle bin to make houses for their puppets.
They can get pretty creative.
Madi's puppet is a pig.
Cassi's is a goose, and I think Elsie was calling her's Daisy Duckling.
Pretty cute.

Tonight after dinner, Cassi was loading the dishwasher.
She pulled out a big bowl to make more room for smaller stuff and she said "Mom, doesn't this one just need to be washed then dried?"
I had to laugh.
I knew what she meant, that it would just be easy to hand wash....but the way she said it cracked me up.
That's exactly what a dishwasher does, Cass!
Love that girlie.
