Friday June 3

We are more than ready for the good warm weather!
The kids got new swimming suits today.
And they couldn't wait to out them on.
Elsie has been asking when we get to go to the swimming pool about every hour today.
I told her that hopefully we might be able to go tomorrow.

They even got wet today....except Elsie....she like being immersed in water, not splashed.
It was a beautiful day today....but it was still only upper 60's.
Not what I would call water fight weather.
But hey, if it makes them happy, right?
******
The girls had their field day today.
They had a lot of fun.
I can't believe school is almost over.
And it is a jam packed summer, it is gonna be so much fun!

Now for the bad news.
Last week Brent was at work and they were pulling hose.
Brent had a bundle up on his shoulder, and it got caught on something....which swung him around and knocked him off the firetruck and he landed in a bad way.
His back has been in bad shape since then.
Well, he had an MRI done on Thursday, and got the results today.
He has a herniated disc.
Right where his lumbar meets is sacrum.
This isn't a great situation.
He is going to start doing some PT next week, and hopefully we can do some other stuff to keep him from having to have surgery on it.
He does not want to have another surgery.
But he can't go back to work until the Doctor releases him....and he said that would be from 4-6 weeks.
He has been pretty good lately after taking some prednisone for a week.
Hopefully his back will continue to do well, and we can get him in good shape to get back to work.
But we will enjoy our time with him while he is here.

It was sure nice today. Ayden got burned at field day. She said "everyone had sunscreen, even Cassi!" I meant to put it on her and send her some, oops.
I just read something that 1 in 10 herniated disks eventually needs surgery after 4-6 weeks of healing and therapy. So that is good news right?

Will Brent go to a Chiropractor? I hope that it can get better and not have to have surgery.

I love that first picture of the kiddos, I am probably going to copy that one for my kids...
